With Cellphones, remember the cell triangulation records your whereabouts at all times to between 50-250M ish, checking phone call patterns is childs play for LEO - so any calls to unique groups of friends or family will link to you, even if you change your phone daily.

The BBC had a CIA officer talking about the hunt for Bin Laden saying "the US National Security Agency (NSA) and UK Government Communication Headquarters (GCHQ) are very good at voice prints"..... so a voice changer would be handy too ...

Why not use skype? Its encrypted by a company called Anagram Laboratories who is highly skilled and has a 35 year old track record. Only problem tho is you'll need a computer at both ends, not sure how the encryption part works over skype phones or pda's etc.

If not there are other not so well known ip-phone apps that im sure will fit every scoundrels need. Aside from that i wouldnt recommend selling weed, grow for yourself and be safe!

I saw some recent reports on LEO complaining that the Italian Mafias were using it heavily for comms and they could not crack it... but with those fuckers, you never know what to believe... so always stick to rule 1]...

Never say anything over a phone that you wouldn't want someone else to hear. Especially if you're doing something wrong......

By "someone else" think Jury, .... as you try for a not guilty verdict if it all gets a bit sticky...

I couldnt read all 5 pages, not enough time. But as an FYI, anything wireless does NOT need a warrant. That includes cells and cordless phones.

If you were being recorded, you would never know.

Switch to a prepay

I've had my phone tapped in the past, we set the cops up once with a false phone call...ended up in a massive security operation, properties raided, bad kicking, 14 day detention without charge, and a shit load of interviews with CID

The Patriot Act:
The Act increases the ability of law enforcement agencies to search telephone, e-mail communications, medical, financial, and other records; the expanded use of National Security Letters, which allows the FBI to search telephone, e-mail, and financial records without a court order; and the expanded access of law enforcement agencies to business records, including library and financial records.

This makes no one safe, if you dont feel safe 2 things can be done.

1.) Stop doing whtever it is that has you paranoid.
2.)Dont use a cell phone period they give you radiation anyway right?

Ya know...here we go again..People that are ignorant to what law enforcement REALLY does should just sto spreading what they THINK is FACT

let me tell you..just like I said earlier..it aint costing LE not a damn thing to them to tap any phone..it's NEVER been expensive to tap a land line..It's even EASIER with cell phones..

You think govt. isn't allowed to buy unblocked wide-band frequency scanners?!! hmmm

you should know it's probably more like they give verizon or whoever 50 bucks and verizon throws them your last years worth of convo's on a dvd

the stuff IS NOT TOO EXPENSIVE and you dorks need to read up on tech before you go spouting oiff like you think you know..too expensive my ass

Ya Know...You only know what you think you know....:hide:
What part of the not talking but rather other ways your phone can be used against you did you not understand??? Like the part about leaving it off to identify where your phone rest when not in use (95%) of everyday from a certain cell tower location?

....or maybe the part about the Govt. turning your phone on and listening to the conversation in the room with your buddies; while you are not even talking on the phone. This isn't technology that your local Po Po has access to in your city of 50,000 residence community.

Verizon isn't recording every conversation and storing it. The Condor Project which was uncovered after 911/Patriot Act from privacy groups stated that the Government had basically tapped into the entire infrastructure of all digital communication...which means everything. Now the question is can a 5 year veteran Cop walk into the NSA and request that info...No Fucking Way, it would be thrown out of Court in a heart beat.

As far as scanners, they cant scan if the phone doesn't have the battery in it, problem solved. Also the scanners, would have to be within a cell tower to record the info.....

I haven't used the word Dork for at least 20+ years....

If you have a pay as you go or even register your cell phone under a different name could they even legally prove it was you if they are tapping?

I remember when I got a pay as you go phone in high school I would get sketchy text messages from random numbers (I guess the last person who had the same number as me was up to no good) sometimes the messages would say stuff like they were laying low for awhile and other weird stuff etc..

It was pretty entertaining for awhile, eventually I got sick of it and just replied "This isn't who you think it is, I have logged all your text messages and the police will be involved"
Didn't get anymore after that.

For those who think LEO and the government doesn't already have their hand deep in the pants of all the major telecom companies: http://maybeitshere.com/techblog/2006/06/att-will-sell-your-information.html

"The company's policy overhaul follows recent reports that AT&T was one of several leading telecom providers that allowed the National Security Agency warrantless access to its voice and data networks as part of the Bush administration's war on terror."

I also remember an article a few months back about the statistics on frequency that verizon/at&t etc "give up" your cell phone data (gps, text, etc) in order to help LEO catch "criminals"...

Play it safe and like jj said, don't say anything you wouldn't want someone else to hear while on the phone.

More than likely, you're not the target. Locals don't bother with cell phone taps 99.9% of the time ... they prefer narcs. Feds are the only LEO that routinely if not almost always build their case on wire taps.

If you are tapped, you know why. Because you don't seem to know why, more likely you have come up in an ongoing investigation involving another or others who you associate with. In all likelihood, your associate/target probably doesn't even know he is tapped. Clicking IS a symptom of some taps. You may think you're small enough to stay under the radar, but those you "deal" with may not be. They may have attracted attention upon you.

Don't say anything on the phone or on the internet that you wouldn't want on a billboard. Landlines are no more secure than cell phones. Encription or throw-aways are vulnerable to the "other end" cooperating.

Please explain whats wrong? I have had 2 attorneys tell me LEO does not need a warrant to listen to cell phone or cordless phone conversations.

No warrant necessary if the person to whom you're talking permits the LEO to listen in (cooperates).

Wouldn't that be a huge waste of resources to tap your asshole BBB? I mean even for a country as rich and powerful as Mexico......and as high profile as you are with the Mexican Secret Service and all.....even still....I think it's grossly negligent of them to consider wasting the Mexican taxpayer's money.

Is true is true, I her they tap many culos in Mexico and I scare!

the only mode of communication that required a warrant was traditional land line and cellular carriers that choose not to comply with LEO

ISPs Wireless Companies nd VOIP companies do let LEO access data and files

in fact on the backbone of most internet ISPs DCs are federal government super computers which are doing very deep packet inspection and reading a good portion of the data stream for mining

if you have no clue how technology works, dont use it

that includes using federal spy satellite resources

ive posted the news references before only a few thousand post to skim through

If you don't list cases where this happened, it's just rumors. Now, maybe I'm just naive, but I still believe I have a right to privacy. If I didn't, I'd be somewhere else.

You would have to be selling or growing a lot of herb for them to tap your phones and they would need significant proof to do so.

I would throw that thing and get on someone in your families.. family plan.
