I think my cell phone is being tapped.

I would use a prepay and keep the battery out when not in use. Various cases have been prosecuted with tower location on certain numbers associated (time, location). So you have a throw away beside your personal phone;they could potentially associated both phones being together over the course of time and use that against you.

I think, from a very good source....that the government can turn on our phone and listen when not in use. They use it to fight the war on terrorism so I would think they could use it against us. Be careful out there, just don't assume you are safe because your phone is not registered to you. Obviously, it cost money for this type of surveillance and the local Po Po doesn't have that kind of access to funds or tech.

Ya know...here we go again..People that are ignorant to what law enforcement REALLY does should just sto spreading what they THINK is FACT

let me tell you..just like I said earlier..it aint costing LE not a damn thing to them to tap any phone..it's NEVER been expensive to tap a land line..It's even EASIER with cell phones..

You think govt. isn't allowed to buy unblocked wide-band frequency scanners?!! hmmm

you should know it's probably more like they give verizon or whoever 50 bucks and verizon throws them your last years worth of convo's on a dvd

the stuff IS NOT TOO EXPENSIVE and you dorks need to read up on tech before you go spouting oiff like you think you know..too expensive my ass

look if they want to get you.. they will get you what I'm trying to do is make it harder for them to get me, if they do the cop deserves it i tried damn hard not to have anyone on my back. Technology is crazy these days, if you watch old cia fbi documentaries you will be amazed at what technology they had 60 yrs ago... I read of alot of smart growers getting busted by tapping and other things so i try my best not to make the same errors.

Big brother is watching so please don't let shit get to your head and think that you will never get busted try your best to make it harder so if they do bust you... you know the cop worked damn hard to get you to say or do what ever he wanted from you.

Why not use skype? Its encrypted by a company called Anagram Laboratories who is highly skilled and has a 35 year old track record. Only problem tho is you'll need a computer at both ends, not sure how the encryption part works over skype phones or pda's etc.

If not there are other not so well known ip-phone apps that im sure will fit every scoundrels need. Aside from that i wouldnt recommend selling weed, grow for yourself and be safe!

i use voip as well..its dirt cheap i can say thqat..I pay like 25 bucks every 4 months...prepaid..a joint called voip.ms that lets you pay by the minute prepaid..can even have a toll free #! (in fact I do cause it's cheaper for me..1$ a month)

the thing is..LE already has the net on lockdown to..they have yahoo..msn..all them in their pockets..I've seen the real actual price list tese joints have for selling your private info/emails

I'd venture to say they could or already have struck a deal with skype and any other encrypted service..Once I saw the price list for all those email companies, I realized in this day and age..in America..any scumbaggery goes

EDIT: and PS, no, you cannot be too cynical about america these days :)

Assume that the police are listening at all times... even on a prepaid. Some people think they're safe because they talk in some kind of half-assed code... but realistically... if the cops really are listening, you aren't fooling anyone. It's best to speak very vaguely and generically over the phone (even prepaids) and save any specific discussion for face-to-face meetings.

I think it should be mentioned the LEO have go through conventional surveillance techniques before resorting to tapping. You cant just start an investigation by starting off with taps, it doesnt work like that. If your phone is tapped then you have been under surveillance for quite sometime already, and frankly if your doing it big enough to where they have to go this far to tapping then your days are just about numbered. Better look into clone phones, voip, and prepaids after you get out that is ;)

If it's anything it's probably some government computer picked up a few keywords associate with my ph# (which has been ALL kOVER the Internets!), I don't think anyone would take a second look if an actual person got involved.

Since the Patriot Act... they can listen into a phone call at any time for any reason. If you were a narco... wouldn't you do it all the time? I would just go around tapping phones just to try to get leads. So I always assume they are doing just that.

There are only a few people big enough on this forum that the cops would even care about enough to TRY to get the go ahead for a cell phone wire tap. Stop smoking so much weed.

all cells are tapped HELLO

PBS Nova had a great special on how the NSA / US Gvt does record EVERYTHING. The NSA has 20,000+ employees its own freeway exit to the city like compound.

Have you noticed 1T hard drives are only $100 retail. Doesn't take much money to store a shit ton of data.

Even cooler is ICmag is an INTERNATIONAL website so NSA is all over this ;) because growers are a big problem :hide: :whistling: Anyone see uncle Sam acting differently?

Peace, :joint:

PS I always start complaing when my phone echoes and is choppy "It would be much better if you recorded me sounding good I hate this echoy shit. You would think you guys would be better at this. Really funny think my calls almost always get dropped with in seconds of complaing out loud about the poor service from national cell phone company V and the NSA."

What "go ahead" are you referring to? They don't need approval from anyone, they can just listen in to any number whenever they feel like it.

And for what it's worth... I would say a majority of the people on this forum would be people of interest to LEO. You'd be surprised how much effort they put into even the small fries.

Not in this economy they aren't. LEO doesn't just sit around and after an anonymous tip go "ok lets cell tap this guy."

A regular officer that gets an anonymous tip call doesn't just go ahead and pull a wire tap. He has to go to his commanding officer, present the facts and ask if she should spend/waste time wire tapping someone because they got a call of someone growing 5 plants.

Maybe in the south they play it like you say, but most other places, especially Cali, they got bigger fish to fry.

Bottom line, for someone to post on here saying they think they have their shit wiretapped, chances are they are paranoid and think they are a lot bigger then they actually are. Also there's no proof that there is a "CLICK" when wiretapping goes on, otherwise it would probably be pretty easy to tell when your being tapped...

I suggest most of you guys freaking about this keep their closet grow as is and don't expand, you'll have a damn heart attack lol.

And BTW ... IMHO another "fag" needs to quit telling people what they "need" to do. What happened to discussing Private matters face to face in Private? So IYHO Who is more Ignorant? - The people giving someone shit for being Less Than Careful about what they say on their phone? The people saying things that can incriminate them on their phone? The person trying to give shit to the people giving shit? It all sounds pretty shitty to me.

Aren't you the one that made a post in open forum regarding "whining mods" ?

Indeed ... but it was 1 whining Mod in particular. I have the utmost respect for the rest of youse Mods ... but ... I'm guessing that could change.

Never say anything over a phone that you wouldn't want someone else to hear. Especially if you're doing something wrong......

bravo bravo....It sums it up perfectly

I have witnesses a strange occurrences once with a text message...seen both phones and messages...was kinda baffled by what exactly happened, but someone else received and replied to a text about info on fans, but TEXT I stay completely clear from. I got fat fingers and shitty spelling so I dont care to use it:biggrin:

I just got pissed at my buddy for sending me a text that was a G rated question about growing (overly cautious to get into good habits about security)...granted he lives in a different states jurisdiction, but if for some reason he get arrested for anything...your personal property is held by cops....makes you wonder "what incriminating texts?" are floating around if the other end doesnt have the same security protocols about deleting text messages. We all know how cops play dirty. Just food for thought.....I sent him to ICmag so we will have a new member soon, and we can talk about stuff.:dance013:

Analog cells were very easy to pick up random interference ?RF? where another phone conversation was heard. I havent heard anyone conversation in years since digital took over, but it was common back then. It is required to turn off cell phones when working close to communication equipment. It can mess with sensitive equipment. I have never seen it to where a conversation can be heard. but problems have been traced back to certain phones affect equipment more.

Wire taps you will not hear clicks...yep in the old days this was true. Technology is evil and the patriot act is scary shit mang:booked: We live in a day and age where freedoms and liberties are being overlooked and misconstrued by policies.

The digital hierarchy of communications of how cell phones work...well the info still runs through hard lines... They still must run through something similar to the semens or at&t5e switch network to get where it needs to go. Granted it probably got alot more streamline since I have been in the biz. All those little bits of info are being thrown together and seperated on DS-1 to OC-12 levels. although rare the equipment may still have a hickup once in a while.

I live in a major metro area so they typically spend money.

I'm also not really talking about regular patrol officers... more along the lines of narcos and Feds. I would think that they wiretap people they're investigating all the time. And no... they probably won't waste their time wiretapping someone who may or may not have 5 plants.

I do agree with you though that many people think their phone is tapped just out of paranoia. But... if you're any kind of significant player at all... it most likely is.
