I just started my first indoor grow, 3 different auto stains, 250w HPS

quick update for anyone who cares, i have allways collected rain water for my plants and never had a ph problem, however for my indoor grow i have been using tap water which in my area is very hard. i just got a ph test kit (just the chepo one not a didgital one) and will be able to see how far off it is and hopfully correct it, my girls dont look to clever at the moment!

the amnesia haze x unknown plants showed me there tits today 1 of them smells so strong it over powers the smell of all the flowering auto white russians, shes no taller then 6". while getting the ph test kit i got some more canna tera vega and the best thing........ a 125w cfl for flowering (I got 2 125w cfls already but there for veg), il get another one next tuesday so il have 250w duel spectrum hps, 250w of veggin cfls & 250w of flowering cfls. tommorow im going to move the amnesia unknown plants into the cupboard above where they are now and put the new 125w flowering cfl in there on 12\12 and when there in full bloom hit the stinky one with the pollen I saved from the auto ak47 x auto hindu kush and auto ak47 x auto blueberry males and get as many seeds as possible to start the long prosses of creating a new auto strain.

u really like to waste light imo, you probally could of yeilded just as much with a single 150hps put vertically in the middle with plants on the sides, your gram per watt is going to be very low-

anyway........

just noticed the short stocky one has a seriouse spidermite infection i got some pest off! which kills pretty much all bugs. i just put all the plants in the bath and give them a good spray. they seem to have dryed off ok just worrying a bit about mold now as the short one is growing very dence. i think i brought them in with the white russian that started in the greenhouse. i had a spidermite problem in there join the last week or 2 of flowering but i thought the auto white russian was clean. i got a ph test kit. my water was 7.5! i now got it to 6 which is perfect for my nutes. but now the plant can properly take her nutes the spidermites are having a feeding frenzy.

I thought i got a new bottle of canna terra vega but i picked up a bottle of flores by mistake. hydro shop dont open again untill tuesday. i need some more soil before i can start the Mi5 seeds. im very tempted to try a pure canna coco grow. i need to start all 10 seeds at the same time so i can select the best girl and boy for a seed run. i read that using coco i can get bigger plants/roots than i would in the same size pots with soil?

that stinks dargo. I hope you get that squared away. My buddy has used azamax and monterey insect spray with great success. Looking forward to your Mi5.

i put the 10 Mi5 seeds between 2 plates in wet paper towel yesterday evening. il get some grow medium when hydro shop opens tomorrow, im going to talk to them about coco so might come back with some of that.

quick q? can i use water retaining crystals with coco to reduce waterings.

day 3 of the bug clean up: used the pest off and most have been killed. just about to go up and check on them

Coco is used primarily FOR retaining water as it contains very little nutrition. So...I would use something to aerate it instead. To answer your question yes you can, but I wouldn't. I have found that I'm almost watering my coco plants less than both blends of canna soil that are being used and tested/compared. Try to pick your growshop guys brain a bit.

Went for the canna soil mix again, hydro shop was useless for information on growing in coco

Germed 10 Mi5 seeds, 9 popped waiting on the 10th. 9 in canna soil mix in the grow room now. 5.5L deep pots.

the 2 auto white russian girls in the middle are day 41 from seed, the back on is the short stocky one, the pothas been raised so the top is at the same height under the light as the taller one

i cant belive how well there doing considering the all the problems ive had. i still have no air been sucked in or blown out of the grow cab, just 1 fan blowing accross the tops to keep the plants cool while keeping them as close to the light as possible. i really want to sort some ventilation in there, but with so many things i need to do in life i cant see me needing to do it untill i need to. looking at my girls i dont see why i need to so far. i know as soon as winter passes temps will rise and il need to extract air in the cab, but as i said until i need it i dont have time\money for it.

ive allways used canna in the greenhouse with exellent results. i didnt see any need to switch when i moved indoors for the winter.

it will be beggining of march when the Mi5's are finished so i should be able to plant a load of the seeds i get from them straight into the greenhouse.
