I just rolled my first blunt, something went horribly wrong.

I'm sorry, but i have to speak up...

I think blunts are about the worst way to smoke. Its not because i cant roll, either. And its not because of the tobacco, i'm a 2packaday smoker. Its just so....sooo.....

I prefer, in this order:

1.Rizla KingSize/ ZigZag KingSize Spliffs (weed/tobacco mix, about 70/30 mix)
2.ROOR beaker. 'nuff said.
3.bowl, bubbler, waterfall/gbong
4.blunt.

If i was to smoke a blunt, it'd be a wrap, or it'd be like a Cyclone or something. I think its a waste of time to crack a philly or dutchmaster, then delicately roll this damn blunt when you know that its going to have a tiny rip in it at least SOMEWHERE. And then, everyone in the room will want about 50+ shotguns.

I dont know, i kind of feel like an ass for going against the flow, but i feel that my side is unrepresented. GO JOINTS AND SPLIFFS AND GOOD BONGS! LONG LIVE REFINED SMOKING!

lol nuttin to feel about and you're not an asshole cuz u don't like to use blunts (more like a noob lol). but you know as we all know that everyone has their own style and preference. i understand your feeling of the ghettoness. like the other day when my boy was rolling a blunt... let me just say he's really old school about it lol. but he stopped smokin for a while, on some I GOT GOD IN MY LIFE SHIT. so his skill diminished a lot lately. anyway, he's takin all day and when he's done the blunt looks like a glazed donut with all the spit he used PLUS he got a crack in it too. lol.

you'll get a better appreciation for the blunt when you "refine" the rolling technique. my friends always complain i take too long to roll a blunt. but it's the time and care that i put into it that makes them hand that shit to me anydamnway lol! they know i'm the best blunt roller (lol) and when i'm done rolling that shit, it's gonna be thick, burn slow, and smoke smooth all the way down.

with your list, i'd actually go the opposite way, sort of..
1. blunt
2. one hitter - for smaller amounts and taste testing lol
3. papers - if i'm too lazy to get a blunt
4. others (bong, pipe, electric pipe ) - treat 'em like novelty items

in my opinion, wraps kinda suck. i've tried to like them but they just sort of take the thrill away for me. they're either too stiff or too soft. you can't put as much in it cuz it'll break apart like some cheap tissue. they smoke just ok! blah.

maybe i need to do a blunt rolling pictorial LOL. show you just how refined smoking a blunt can be lol.

I smoke tobacco once or twice a day, not because I'm addicted (which I'm not) but because I occasionally buy vanilla flavoured hand roling tobacco and it's a great time passer when I have a bit of waiting to do, and the first rolley of the day I have makes me light headed and feel stonned, and once (when I hadn't been smoking very long) I had a rolley and after the second toke I went compleatly white, went boiling hot and started sweating and thought I was going to throw up just like a whitey. It's deffinatly strange and I have never heard of anybody else experiencing it, maybe it's because I'm used to smoking weed and the tobacco is acting as a placebo?

swishers or nothing, here is how i roll. the card pictured under the blunt is used to tighten the roll even more. tuck the near side over the weed and under the far side with the card to make it as tight as you want, then lick and seal. gl and seriously, swishers or nothing...

the friend was a chick who's gotten her first touch of herb in norcal although she's from here.. she was talkin bout humboldt and medicinal marijuana.. i had to show her we in NYC aren't slouches either lol. yeah prices are higher but we got killer shit here too. i called my guy and he came thru with some jack herer cross shit. i knew i had to come strong lol.

what was great, she's never had a blunt before. she's always used swishers, pipes, and bongs. it's even more funny because the stores here dont carry swishers for her. but she's not used to the slow burning fatties lol. she bought some with her on the plane trip. i forgot what it was but it wasn't enough for a fatty. a good size blunt but not a fatty lol.

not even a quarter of the way down the blunt, she's FADED. im lookin at her like.. thas all u can take.. miss norcal.. miss humboldt county.. miss medicinal marijuana.. Rollin blunts is an art. Strong fingers with a soft touch. Roll em tight and dont use swishers, use DutchMasters, Garcia y Vegas or aything that uses a real leaf as the wrap.
BackWoods are the best, but the trickiest to learn..

In Poland blunts are a totally alien idea. Hardly anyone would even know what you mean by blunt. Everyone smokes either spliffs or from a glas crack pipe (the "ghetto kids"). Bongs all the other toys aren't very popular. Bit hard to use them on the streets. Here in Germany bongs are much more popular but still a spliff culture here. (i'm smoking some handrolled maroccan hash now in a tiny spliff ).

I just managed to roll a crude blunt out of a SWISHER SWEETS wrapper...... admittedly it was a pretty bad attempt; it wasn't tight at all and the wrapper was coming apart. So I light the fat bitch up and the thing just starts burning like crazy. I couldn't stop it, all the smoke was going to waste, so I just started smoking it as fast as I could. The flavor of the smoke was unmatched, I'll give it that... smooth and delicious... it made the shitty weed I got yesterday seem better... but, it was all gone inside of 3-5 minutes. The wrapper also burned back much faster than the contents, so I kept losing unsmoked bud at the front as the burning wrapper fell apart.... I probably went through three bowlpacks worth in as many minuts... any advice for how to prevent this from happening again??

You don't have any friends that roll? If so make them teach you, or just watch them do it 50 times and eventually you just get it, Like everyone else said, it really is a learning process, it takes like 5-20 blunts to really get it. Hell i have probably rolled 100 and still mess up sometimes.

I don't know if its been mentioned, but get a blunt that has an outer wrap and the inner paper, these are much, much easier to roll when you first start out, You use the inner paper like you would a swisher, but then use the whole outer paper to hand roll it on a surface (magazine/book in car, table at a house), Good blunts to use are Garcia Vega: the ones that come in the hard plastic colored case and Dutch Masters (If you are in the US), you unpeel the outer wrapper, throw it around a wet drink while you roll the first inner part like a joint, it doesnt have to be even remotely tight/perfect; this is where the outer wrapper comes in play. You then lick the end of the outer wrappers, (the first part that will touch the paper and the last part)

and simply roll it on a table or book or something, I don't know how to describe this part, someone else maybe?

In the meantime you can get Black and Milds and remove all the tobacco and repack it with finely broken up weed....keep the plastic tip on there, it's nice.

Yes you do, you do exactly that, 'back in my day' we didn't have those fancy wraps, actually they came out when I was in High school. When you are first starting out, or using cheapweed practice with a cheaper blunt <$1.00 USD for one (Philly, Swisher, Optimo). Although i have no idea how much they would be across the ocean. Man i feel old. Time for a bowl.
