They are pretty helpful and the quality of care is decent. They fill the gap between a regular dr. And the ER. A serious injury or something, go to the ER, that is where urgent care will direct you anyway as they don't have the resources to treat serious things. Let's say you have a high fever and keep puking but it's a week to get in to see your primary care dr., that's when urgent care shines. Stuff that isn't life threatening but that really can't wait. They are significantly cheaper than the ER as they don't have the same sort of overhead.
Right... and no doctors are present. The person in charge is a Nurse Practitioner who has 'helpers'.
