Some of you guys took this way too seriously. Perhaps some of you should go back and read the post where I explained my reasonings for not smoking with people who call it pot. I am not like that anymore. Mostly where I come from only ravers and hippies call it pot.

No, I think we do understand. You'll disassociate your self with people over one word. It's not like they drop the 'N-bomb' around black people.. When you start to judge people by their perceived group then you might be thought of as a bigot. Well, that is the definition of a bigot.

I call it pot ( I have no idea why the word pot offends you) and I also call it dope. which it is. a substance that alters your mood and conscience is dope. be it wine coolers or weed or PCP.

I do laugh when my old friends say doobie, or "a reefer" in reference to a joint or just calling it grass though. I just feel like we should watch leave it to beaver if we're still going to call it that.


But I mean really think about it because it doesn't hurt nobody but you. I smoke some of the finest kindest, and extremely rare weed on earth and you'd shoot down a smoke session with me because I said "smoke pot" or "put dope between the sheets?"

The most logical term which i always use is 'bud'. u could call it flower but that doesn't sound right. i hate the word dope, i associate dope more with heroin.

How am I angry or hateful? You're the one with the problem with a word. I just think you're a bigot. People talk about tolerance and peace and here you are putting up fences over one word. As you can see you'd not be smoking with more then half of the people in this thread? I don't see the point. Are you going to single handily rid the world of the word 'pot' by not smoking with people that use that word? I don't get it?

You better not hate a word because LEGION here will consider you a bigot. Does that go for a song or a flavor or perhaps even a political view? Just because I hate a word does not make me a bigot. Now if someone were to take the meaning of the word bigot literally from the dictionary, I guess I could see where someone might consider me a bigot for not smoking with someone because they used the word pot. But that’s debatable, and even if that were the case then everyone in existence could be considered a bigot for one reason or another. No I think you took it way too far, just like I took it too far for not smoking with people who called it pot. You and I, we would have had a lot in common years ago, since then I have changed though.

It just seems like a word that i would think of a LEO using also it seems like people who live in areas where smoking is less accepted tend to use words like pot and dope everyone i know in texas calls it dope ive never used that word for my mary. And a friend of mine moved from an area of the east coast where smokers were treated like outcasts and druggies and when he moved to my town where smoking is just something people do well he still had the outcast mentality he called miss mary pot

I just notice a difference between people who say fuck the government theyre laws are shit and people who still think its ok that the government prohibits mj

example: I met a fellow who suffers from sevear back pain fom a degenerative disc and he smokes to aleviate his pain because of a morphine allergy, I suggested that he seek a recomendation because he was saying that he wanted to grow his own. His responce was that he didnt want to be an open supporter of mmj because it was still federally illegal. he called it pot every time


and on another note he who sait rich hippie kids call it ganj is right on the money i feel the same

Yea I have to agree with people here, not smoking with someone because they call it a certain word is stupid. Pot, weed, bud, whatever you call it brings people closer IMO and you have better conversations unless the person is some drugy which I doubt most of you associate with.

by the way, how do feel about the word "reefer"; back in the day everybody where i lived.......... (down south in the U S of A) called it that; sort of a way of poking fun at reefer madness and the craziness we saw around us, i guess.

but anyway, when i called it that the other month at my wife's place of work, a woman (who was almost as old as me) said-- they don't call it that anymore. meaning, i guess, that i was dating myself. yeah, but she didn't have any, and I was growing some fine reefer! nah nah!

oh well; it was good enough for us back then and you youngsters didn't invent smoking it

show some respect for us who paved the way. (although i'll be the first to admit we didn't do a very good job legalizing it...but hey, you youngsters haven't done much better on that score, it seems to me!)

anyway, i'll keep calling it pot, reefer, herb whatever.

In fact years ago if I was smoking with a group of people and someone called it "pot" I would refuse to smoke with them. Most of my friends also agreed with me about the word so it always ended up a debate with others about why we hated the word "pot". And usually we never smoked with that person again if they continued to call it pot. Kind of funny now that I think about it. My reason was that cops and prohibitionists used the word and my friends agreed with me.

yes, you can hate a word but you went past that. You acted on that and refused to treat them like your friends. YOU judge people and categorize them by the use of one word..
