Leave it for now , scrap everything, use the next few months learning a lesson in defence, i.e.. dog,lighting, house security.

Someone earlier mentioned more locks, not worth as toss, if they don't get locked, i think one lock was enough, just never got used

lol, if you put a soft ball full of peanut butter in front of my dogs and then tried to get in my house you would be in a world of hurt. A good guard dog does not care about food when in protection mode.

But they dont know nothin bout that big bro. My dog would leave that ball there for months until I say ok and she still shakes ass

As for the seedlings, I highly doubt this person knew what they were unless they also grew. Most plant seedlings look alike.

I dunno if i'd assume that. Maybe if they were just seedlings amongst other house plants or in a window sill or something, but most people would associate seedlings under lights inside as someone trying to grow weed.

He didnt specify if they were under a light in a pre-defined space/setup, but anyone who sees that is going to know what is up.. even more so if they are a thieving criminal.

Here's what you do...........

Go out and buy a cheap security system of some kind- camera's etc, doesn't matter- you don't need the system, just the box. Take the box, and all the pots that the seedlings were in as well as 1 or two larger ones, empty them, and put everything at the end of your driveway 3-4 days before trash pickup. You might want to put your trash out early for the next few weeks as well so it doesn't look out of your routine. Even if you don't plan on growing this would still be a good idea, he'll think you ditched the grow AND beefed up security.

My mistake. I don't know why I assumed "put them in dirt" meant he had them on a patio or outside behind the house with other plants.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't grow there for a long time.

Dogs are great security. Anyone that says different doesn't know how to properly train one for that specific purpose.

How the hell does one train their dog to do this? I realize it must be something done from birth on - never allowing anyone else to ever feed your dog?

I see a lot of people who don't socialize their dogs so that they are aggressive towards strangers, etc. I think its crazy and creates a dangerous dog.

My large breed dog is the friendliest well tempered dog ever, but will still go vicious nuts if anyone steps on the property or tries to enter the house until we say "its ok - good girl".

I consider our dog to be a deterrent, not necessarily a guard/attack dog.
Thats all they really should be if they are a pet as a gun/taser is still going to render your guard dog useless anyways.

I'd like to think that my dog would protect me if I was being physically attacked, but I cant really say for sure. She does do a good job at looking/sounding like she will.
