I can pick locks and it looks like you left the door unlocked. I am a carpenter/electritian so I have to break into broken doors and windows all the time. Maybe she locked it. Don't be mad at her in other words.

As far as your loss, that sucks. As for you question, "what should I do." Keep doing what you would normally do and beef up security. Screw living in fear of some duche bag, for all you know it was the 15 year old boy from down the street. Get some dogs, cameras and brink security or something. Then go back to growing down the line. Never live in fear, remember the principles of our four fathers, "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness", nobody can take that from you. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about that but i agree with Bullfrog you can not live in fear get a big ass dog and do your thing if there going to come back there going to come if you keep a garden or not.Just check the date they broke in and be on high alert round harvest time also make yourself some really hard to find stash spots for your finished stash. Also try not to go all gun crazy paranoia is a bitch but if it makes you feel secure a good high power cattle prod is a handy security item

all you dog folks are tripping. TRIPPING

maybe you forgot how good life was when you didn't have to pick up poop or clean up hair or go walking in the cold early morning or late nights in the rain.

but for anyone who doesn't have a dog and is planning on getting one to make life easier and more care free, think again

HUGE commitment... dont get me wrong, dogs are probably great at security... but,

I don't wish that responsibility on anyone.

If you want a dog, thats a different story. But if you want extra security features to relax, i dunno about that

^^^ lol thats why i asked "would u risk it" haha ur right on, if someone he didnt kno came into my house theyd get a bunch of kisses... then as there loading my tv up into there car he'd be standing at the door crying cuz he wants to go for a ride lol

maybe you forgot how good life was when you didn't have to pick up poop or clean up hair or go walking in the cold early morning or late nights in the rain.

But the companionship that comes with a dog is priceless, u should stick to cats

Plan on getting a Tiger soon rawr

Sorry for your losses, for some reason women like to not lock doors I think it's a genetic short coming.

I lived in the sticks for most of my life. I cant even imagine life without the help of a good dog.

This dog,

, put herself between my wife and an enraged young holstein bull that broke out of its stall in my old barn. The dog had a leg broken from the bull shaking her but she didn't let go till the bull turned and ran off.

But don't get a dog unless you're willing to spend a lot of time bringing them up right --and always treat them like family.

I don't go out to my gardens without a dog. I may not know when someone has been there, but my dog sure does. On the few occasions I've had to go alone I have always had a healthy dose of paranoia-- hearing sounds and wondering if I'm being watched. With a good dog along you KNOW when it's just you and your buddy.

I've never grown with a two legged-partner, I've never grown without a four-legged partner.

Don't worry too much, but the one thing I would repeat here is: Only get a dog if you give it the proper amount of care it needs. They are a lot of work but serve there purpose. Your wife made a mistake but we all aren't perfect. Add some extra locks on the each entrance of the property. It will at least buy you some time if you plan on staying there.

I wouldn't grow if I was you, and not because you got robbed and somebody might know you have herb, but because how/why would you get robbed just leaving the backdoor unlocked? It just doesn't sound like a safe neighborhood to be doing anything illegal in.

How long was it unlocked? WHO knew? Do random teens just walk around checking if doors are locked? Almost all burglaries are by close associates.

edit: if your seedlings were indoors under lights and were suspicious, I wouldn't grow there again. Though if the asshole was smart, he would have left everything intact and went out quietly, waited 2 months and came back for a bigger payload. Be glad that didn't happen and you knew somebody came in.

If I was you I'd be afraid of them coming back for more bud in the future, whether you keep growing or not. Buy a gun and have security on windows etc. I feel your pain.. definitely a tough situation for you. not worth the safety/freedom of you and your wife.

Good thing it wasn't a cop that walked in right? You got lucky after breaking the plain view rule.. really wanna test your luck again so soon?

IF you do decide to grow (I don't suggest it) then make sure it's a small grow in a secret location. Secret as in, if I'm a cop walking around your house, I wouldn't find it (assume I have no dogs with me) and perhaps have some plants on the patio and/or near the backdoor in case they're snooping to see what you've been up to.

lol, if you put a soft ball full of peanut butter in front of my dogs and then tried to get in my house you would be in a world of hurt. A good guard dog does not care about food when in protection mode.
