Minds I, I am the father of 2 young ladies in their 30's,so I have already gone through what you are now experiencing. When my eldest daughter was 18, she was dating a guy that my whole family hated,as he was stupid. I bought my daughter a dildo and told her to use it instead of him. My sons, one of whom is 6'3" and 270 lbs,, took a different approach. They took my daughter aside and told her that if she married this creep, they would kill him and dispose of the body. She still has the dildo, but got rid of the boyfriend.

well you can tell the people who have kids on here and those who dont. most of the jawjackin comes from those who mainly dont, but as we all know, opinions are truly like a-holes eh?
no matter whose children they are, they are first and foremost budding individuals. as parents its our job to teach them the right/wrong so that they know the difference when the chances to do either arise in their lives. we supply the foundations, its up to them to build the house that they choose too, once their time comes to do so.
it doesnt matter whether boy or girl, i have a boy and girl of my own and a step daughter. once they see you make the right moves then they will know how to follow suite. i.e. i recently had to negate my sibling out of my life, he thought that his childish tirades that my mother/father allow,would be tollerated by me and my immediate family and that couldnt happen, my parents called and had the nerve to try and have this moron speak to my kids, which because of one of his petty rants hes not allowed to anymore. so as they are on the phone they freeze cause they were shocked to hear his voice,and then i didnt hear him speaking anymore, just cut off, i asked the kids what happened and they said they hung up because they remembered what uncle A-hole did, and what i said about them not speaking to him under any circumstances. so this is just a small example of how parenting can go with kids, even though they see the things we go through as adults, what we instill as right and wrong is what will win out. and because of what uncle A_HOLE did, he buried himself in a hole with his own niece and nephew, because they witnessed for themselves how wrong he was. is uncle a-hole worth it, nah not by a long shot,a s pompous as he is, hes still a loser. late 20's, B.A. and still livin' with mom/pop. and these are things the kids noticed for themselves, my wife and i overheard a convo they were having and just laughed. kids are alot smarter than we give them credit for thats for shure. .. those girls will be jsut fine lettem play football, after my ordeal with uncle a-hole, i felt alot better about my kids and what they understand to be right and wrong.

I have read your thoughts and have taken the best.
I am keeping to my plan of just guiding them through dealing with the issues as they arise. That is not to say that I am not paying attention, just that at this point in their lives, continual bagging and being over bearing are not going to make that crucial difference. Its all of what I (and Mrs. Minds) taught (good and bad) them that is going to influenece them now. My job now as I see it is to be their and guide them through into young adulthood.
But secretly, I will still show all the boys that will come into their lives in the next few years or so my machete collection...Just for good measure

make sure you whisoer any warnings to suitors turning to collect daughters for dates in the suitors ear...dont say it loud shout pull grimacing faces to get the poiint across(point being that of she aint home by ten his notrils will be severely blocked with his nuts) make sure you whisper it right in the ear..nice and calm, then look him in the eye and smile.... then stop smiling...and walk lol.....

Good luck Brother!! I have a 19 year old daughter...and barely made it through her 15-17 y/o days...without picking up a murder charge!! lol
