Unfortunately, this Far Out decided to hermy too. I just noticed male flowers today, but I don't know how long they've been around. It's too late in the game to worry about them. I will let it finish, in the hopes of a balanced high. But I have decided to no longer grow Mandala's feminized genetics. The clone will be destroyed. Mandala knows what they are doing with their regular genetics, but they have a little way to go with the fems. Oh well. I guess that means I get to keep looking for a blueberry hybrid.
I had a few puffs of white widow a little while ago, and I am currently fighting to stay awake... It's 3:00 in the afternoon for crying out loud! So in other words, white widow is strong, and it's not so much of a daytime smoke, lol.
I have been smoking the popcorn buds from the white widow, which hasn't even begun curing yet, and the high is great! I'm actually very disappointed that I couldn't get a clone of her... They all just died off. So it wasn't meant to be, at least this time around. I will absolutely buy seeds of this one in the future though!
Dinafem has surprised me... I think I will have to try some of their other strains too.
So yeah, the very first early sample of the short Sadhu occurred last night. It was still just barely not as dry as it needed to be, so I did have to throw a few buds into the microwave and zap them for 11 seconds, twice, but then I smoked it. It was wonderful, and such a smooth smoke! I simply dont want to write up a smoke report based on a premature smoke. It was very sticky, like to the point that certain areas of the buds are white white white! But it was very mellow, didn't require much to get to where we needed to be, and didn't glue me to the couch. I even smoked more right before bed, and it helped me to get right to sleep. I cant wait til it dries and cures properly!!!
I figure it'll be dry enough to jar up by tomorrow morning.
Sweet! Glad to here its that good even when fresh.. There are a couple packs of Sadhu sitting at the Boo for like 23$ might just have to pick a couple more of them up. I wish Mandala had never discontinued Sadhu...
Shit, I might have to pick a few more up myself in that case. Just to have them. I believe Mandala when they say we will see these genetics pop up in a new strain someday. If you think about it, there really are some redundancies in a few of their strains, as if they like to "overlap" (for lack of a better word) genetics into their strains, so that the breeding parents end up really having multiple presences in the strains for sale.
So I should probably recap the state of affairs here...
I have been smoking on White Widow for the past several days, which is an extremely quality stone! There is something about the cannabinoid profile of this one, which makes me get extremely sleepy in the first 30 minutes after smokinga small bowl. Once that passes, it's just a nice, couch-locky stone that has many layers to it. This is definitely a connoisseur strain. Weirdly though, I smoked it right before going to sleep last night, and I woke up feeling hungover from it this morning. It wasn't that big of a deal, and my morning coffee made it go away, but I basically still felt stoned and sluggish when I woke up. Going to try again tonight and see how I feel in the morning. If the hangover is present, I will not use this strain for insomnia medicine any longer. But it is a QUALITY stone, for just relaxing at the end of the day. I will *DEFINITELY* be buying seeds of this one in the future.
The short Sadhu is mostly dry, and should be going into jars tomorrow morning. The tall Sadhu was just harvested on day 65, so it still has some drying to do. It actually has turned into the most colorful and nicest-smelling of all the plants. How about that? The one that smelled like a compost dumpster now smells the most delectable. But it is very leafy compared to the short Sadhu, so I don't regret my choice to keep the short one.
Point of No Return will be harvested on Day 70, which is this Saturday. Then the Far Out will be harvested in day 77.
I am still not sure if I'll have clones ready to move into this tent after that, so I plan on ordering more seeds this weekend, and doing another from seed grow. I'm thinking of doing a fast variety, 8 weeks or less, and they have to be feminized, and they have to be cheap... so I think I'm settling on Pure AK by Female Seeds. I'll make up my mind on Friday.
Hey thanks! You ain't seen nothing yet my friend... This round was just mother picking. Next time I'm filling the tent with lemon skunk! Soon as that Far out gets harvested...
Okay, so, I'm nicely stoned on the sadhu right now, and I think this is as good a time as any to do a smoke report...
Mandala Sadhu, short pheno
This strain was the whole reason I made the seed order in the first place, and this pheno seems to be the one I was told to look for... The one that represents the description of the high by Mandala...
It's only been curing for 24 hours now, but when I open the mason jar I am greeted by a pleasant, sugary aroma of tropical melons. I pack a bowl of it and light it up...
First things first, there is now a taste to it. Not so much like it smells, but rather hashy instead, with some fruity undertones. The smoke doesn't expand in my lungs and make me cough, like most indicas do. It's a very smooth smoke actually, very clean tasting upon exhale.
I feel the effects right away... It first comes on in the head. Right as I'm exhaling that first hit I'm getting light headed and giggly. It definitely makes me giggly. I feel silly, and everything is very funny to me right now. After finishing the bowl, 4 puffs or so, I'm feeling droopy eyed, and relaxed. My body doesn't want to move. Even though, I could move if I wanted to (says the guy lazily vegetating on the couch).
I have some neck problems, and this appears to have turned those into a distant memory at the moment. My muscles are all relaxed, like I've taken a flexerall. I have the munchies, too, which is actually highly unusual for me... I wonder if I'm just plain old hungry?
So that's how it has effected me at night time... I'll try some more tomorrow morning for breakfast and see how the wake and bake is. I like the Sadhu!
The PNR comes down today. Here she is in her colorful splendor:
You might have noticed that halfway up the main cola bud the color is lighter. That is the line where the plant grew taller than my reflector, so it's obvious that the bud wasn't getting direct light from that line up.
