A record-holder athlete suddenly dies from « medical complications » at the’age of 29 years
Canadian pole vault world champion Shawn Barber has died suddenly at the age of 29.
L’elite athlete was the holder of the pole vault record and world champion in 2015.
Barber died Wednesday at his home in Kingwood, Texas, his agent, Paul Doyle, confirmed to the’Associated Press (AP).
The cause of death’ has not been revealed.
According to the AP, Barber died as a result of « medical complications ».
In a statement about Barber's unexpected death, Doyle said :
« More than an incredible athlete, Shawn was a big-hearted person who always put others before him. »
« It is tragic to lose such a good person at such a young age. »

Athletes have dropping dead forever. There were plenty of pre covid studies into this. Oh look here's a study from 2018.
