With the SunSystem X's that I have run over the years (3 of them) the quietest performance is when they are hung by their handle, from a STUD!!!!, on a thick piece of rope, not chain. Between un-coupling the base from the sounding board [floor or box] it rests on, it also puts tension on the housing and has stopped the rattle that one old one had developed.
