what happens if the shell doesnt come off the sprout?
My sprout is nearly an inch tall and at the end is the entire seed shell. Its been like that for a day...how much longer until I should try and pry it off?
Here is a great method.
-put soil in cup
-make hole with finger in middle of cup
-put seed in
-cover with more soil
-water
-wait a couple days.
The paper towel method may work, but its too much crap.. And I know the majority of you use your fingers when replanting it.
It's just better to plant it in soil.. Unless you are working a strain that is known to not germ well..
i always start my seed in rapid rooters.. just drop em in and bam they grow..easy and i get great germ rates
I used to fuck around with putting the seeds in water for 24 hours, then putting them in moist paper towels for a few days, and then moving them to soil.
Fuck that shit.
Now I just throw the seeds directly in moist peat pellets, end of story.
No fucking around, simple as shit, and works.
The reality of the situation is that we're just very aware of the dangers of handling a live sprouted seed and do what it takes to avoid that.My school of thought...... I think the people that most advocate just putting the seed in the soil tend to have a lot more friggin seeds than most home growers.
Exactelly as i do.
(well said).
