How to ask your electrical company if they provide info to leo

In most areas anybody can call the electric company and get a one year average of the electric bills. You just tell them you're thinking about buying it. They won't tell you each months usage but when they are giving out a one year average it doesn't really matter.

What state are you in? Doesn't matter because I can link you stories where cops admit to the paper that they got their info from the electric company without a warrant.

It doesn't make the headlines, it's a boring "who cares" news story generally. But they get pretty specific in their info on local news websites for small towns, etc. From there, I check court records databases by name and county. Within a month of the trial every relevant word is printed online.


That's how you learn about this shit. The more expensive (but less annoying) way is to just ask your local attorney what he's heard. If you do both, you will know, as I do, that your electric company will give your info over without a warrant. This has been confirmed by every local attorney I have ever paid in every place I have lived and grown (7) and has been again reiterated by various news stories/private research.

Bottom line with all this, cops are onto you enough to care about your electric records, you're fucked anyway.

Life isn't like the movies when it comes to this shit. Yeah big time players can be pretty open and cops can know and not be able to do anything. But pot grower? Dude it's not hard to get sufficient evidence to put a pot grower away. Follow home, snoop around without a warrant to confirm ur suspicions, lie and say you didn't just do that, then find a reason to fuck you. Boom done. It's not like u can flush ur 20K watt grow down the toilet real quick.

Snooping your usage isn't enough to say you're fucked, but hte rest of your post is spot on. If you want to find out how people get busted then just follow those who show in the papers. I did this for two growers and several traffickers just to see what happens after court. Results were no one went to jail not even the guy holding 10-50lbs and 110 plants.

Cops need a warrant before the electric company will hand over power records. We only keep records for the past two years.

People and realtors call all the time about usage. Why is not a concern. You have a flag listed next to every account where the home is for sale. Rentals or private sales are not flagged though.
