Speaking of transplanting and I just skimmed over this thread quick,
Question:
I just started seedlings (they are 4 days old today) when will they out grow these cups? When should I transplant for the first time?

10-14 days. I'm assuming you are using 16oz cups.

I would agree with that. That SSH1 up above on the paper plate was about 16 days in a 10oz Solo cup. Normally I would have got it out a couple days sooner, but I was out of town.

When using "Dixie / Beer" cups - I like to put the plant in a clear cup THEN a colored cup on the outside.

That way you can protect the roots from light damage but easily see how the roots are progressing.

* I go with 4 containers total in a 1 month veg to get optimum root mass.
