I've seen them about 7 times. The latest in Cincy this past summer. They still put on one of the best shows in music. Neil is incredible. Have you read his books? I saw an interview with Geddy Lee after Neil lost his daughter and wife . He was asked if they would continue without Neil and Geddy said "there is no Rush without Neil Peart". I was listening to the "Octavarium" cd by Dream Theater the other day. Their drummer is very good also.

Ive seen them 2 times ,the first time @ the spectrum in philadelphia "Mr Big" opened up for them .As we were walking through the lot ,theirs this old burnout dude who looked to be in his early 40's pretty rough looking He was walking around selling paper acid ,lots of people were buying.
I was about 16 yrs old .I didn't buy any ,and i kept scratching my head .I had been to a few Dead shows at that time .But selling acid for Rush ,WtF i thought.
Well once the show started ,thats it i knew why then ,its by far the most mindblowing lazer show w/concert show you will ever see.You feel like your on drugs without even taking anything.I ve been to hundreds of concerts but Rush stands out as the most visual sensory overload.
The second time i saw em ,the spectrum again .Was for the roll the bones tour .That was quite good ,They had large blow up rabbits on both sides of stage .And again the killer lazers.I lost my protopipe that show..boy i loved that thing .
I remember this Lame ass band "Alice in Chains" opened up for them, boy they sucked and nobody really like them or knew who they were. Hahahaha...

Saw them back in the early 80's. Unfortunately, it was when they were promoting their Moving Pictures album, and had gotten into all the synthesizer crap. Would have loved to seen the tour that All the Worlds a Stage album was cut from. Rock and Roll at its best. Their coming here to my state this year, but doubt I'll see them. I would rather have the fond memory of what they were, and not what they are now.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past. I used to listen to rush and almost nothing else when I was in high school. Saw them in concert 3 times, couldn't tell you which tours they were on, but the last time was probably in 83/84. After I went to college, I kinda lost interest in them though. There was a college band that opened my eyes to a bunch of new music, and I just kind of never looked back. The lead singer went on to become pretty famous afterward. A guy named Trent Reznor.

I never got to go to a Rush concert but it does bring back memories of rideing around with my girlfriend in my 69 GTO back in high school. Used to jam out with the old 8-track with bands like Rush and many others.

I DID'NT KNOW WHAT I HAD AND SOLD THEM ABOUT ONE AND A HALF MONTHS LATER TO A GUY WHO COULD'NT GET THE MONEY OUT OF HIS POCKET FAST ENOUGH. SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SIGN! Ive seen em 3 or 4 times. The 80s stuff is "off" for lack of a proper word but I still like it. for those who gave up after moving pictures or signals give counterparts and snakes and arrows a listen. The official rush page has a good quality song of one of their latest...working them angels o ver time!

Seen 'em once but it was in the top 5 concerts of my concert-going life(along with Stevie Ray Vaughan at the Tower in Philly.David Gilmour at the Tower and Jerry Garcia at the Tower).And I've seen hundreds.Had missed them on the Permanent Waves tour at the Spectrum,think I couldn't get off work that night if memory serves me.
So it was the following year,must have been 1982 I think.Still have the ticket stashed away somewhere,I kept all my old tickets.
The venue--Radio City Music Hall,New York City
warm-up act---almost sure it was Marillion who I'd never heard of at the time and didn't impress that much ,they were ok

The gig itself,we had 16th row,something like that and Rush completely blew me away,an amazing show.Neil Pert on that drum set that completely surrounded him----the lightshow was spectacular
Lost interest really in their newer stuff but I still have Exit Stage Left on my ipod and listen to it all the time.some of those songs almost bring a tear to my eye--Xanadu comes to mind

i saw them once,i was very dissappointed, it was the counterparts tourand they
played hardly any old stuff ,they played the whole new album i didnt know so it was a bummer , i saw people getting busted, it was in charlotte. my best concert was pink floyd '96 , the stones is next in 90, guns and roses did a bang up job, the dead of course 91(only once), the allmans every year is about the only shows i see now

saw Rush for free, walked right in and no problems... they played that Limelight song...
The played a lot of classics, but it was an overall good show, not the best or worst...
I saw 'em like 3 years ago by the way... Had a damn good time and got stoned and drunk, danced my ass off for sure... Their drummer Neil Perdt is amazing!
Overall a positive experience!

Saw them around 1979-80 at the Hammond Civic Center in Hammond, IN. One thing I remember about that concert was a clever quip made by my buddy. Just after the local, unknown warm-up band finished (remember those?), my friend turns to me and says, "Wow, wasn't Rush great?" Funny, I remember the joke and not the concert.
ah-i did a bit of roadie/humping/security for Marillion in the early 80s-the first gig with a bunch of biker friends with whom i got horribly drunk and did too much wang. We met the singer (Fish-lol) then these wet wimpy guys kept trying to get back stage-i'm ashamed to say that we roughed them up a bit and may have been a little bit intimidating what with all the alcohol and chag-then the band took the stage and to my surprise it became evident that we'd been duffing up Marrillion-lol. Whats more they didn't fire us-i think that they may have been too scared-lol
i didn't think they were ok-i thought that they were shit (apologies to all Marrillion fans)

Caught Rush at the Cricket Pavilion in Phx. the other night. So like 13 shows for me now.
This show was better than the show last year and I thought that one was pretty good.
Found a spot way up on the lawn, where I could sit down and look over all the people standing.

Grace Under Pressure was a great show. One of the best. I had that shirt.

hazy....just found this thread.....I was 11 when *moving pictures* came out.....it was my favorite album for so may years....when I started toking around 13.....me and my friends used to listen to it...blitzed out totally...along with zeppelin and pink floyd of course
but tom sawyer, red barchetta, limelight and vital signs still remain my four favorite songs from them....guess it was just the perfect time for me and that music i can listen to over and over again
