hey hey wwm
yeah that signals album did change things.

remember it was the time of 'new wave' *cringe*

subdivisions is extremely cool in concert though

howdy again AF
neil's solos are the ultimate in drumming.

sometimes i wish he would ditch the half electronic set and stick to the acoustic drums

oh boy, Brother_Monk

love the pics! i can't wait till they get out here.

got 4 tickets in a cubby hole on my desk
great seats man -mine are a little far away
you can tell by looking at neil peart, that this man is a pro in every good sense of the word. concentration to the max.
his drums are worth the whole show to anyone who has not seen them

i read in an interview with geddy where he said he does not do bass solos because he doesn't think that anyone wants to hear him playing scales.
modest but untrue. i want to hear him play scales.
he thumps the bass like no other

i see they changed the behind the stage screens and added some new stuff to the movies.

----------
yo s2d, dude, i got an extra ticket. come to the great southwest and i'll hook you up

and the lights just make it so cool
a great experience
---------
daisy jane
johhny winter?! cool
dp cool too

last show for was the 30 anniversary- time to see them, they won't tour forever

awesome pics again bm

Rush!

Rush!

I've seen Rush 3 times.Once in Evansville,IN. and twice in St. Louis,Mo.The place in Evansville was general addmittence,so you could sit anywhere ya liked. We always went right up front to the rail.It was an awesome show! That drum solo was somethin else, esp the way he bounced the (glowing) sticks off the drums way up in the air, never missin a beat.I was trippin my ass off, hehe it was purdy cool.I saw a lota bands at that place, always on the rail.I once handed Dusty Hill from ZZ Top a joint of lambsbreath.Another time at that same place,Ozzy came out from under these steps that were on stage. He was sittin on this huge siver/gold hand. When he stopped he was about 6 inches away from my face.Scared the shit outa me,I thought he was gonna take my head off fer a lil bit there.I had NO way ta back up,it was packed. LOL I was trippin that time too.I think I may have cracked a couple of ribs that night though.aaahh yes,the good ol days! lol Take care...BC

Hey, glad you all liked my shitty pics. I know it's hard to tell, but if you look behind Geddy, those glowing "Henhouse" amps of his.....well...the thing about them is they are filled with chickens roasting. Lol! Yeah, I said chickens roasting. They would be jamming their ass off on some Tom Sawyer or something, like three times during the show, this dude would come out, dressed in a BBQ outfit(chefs hat and all), and start basting these rotissery chickens! All non chelaunt, like there's not a friggin' concert going on behind him. Hahahaha! That shit was too funny. Those guys are nuts man. Rotissery chickens in the Bass amps...LOL!

right on bc
general admission was beterr than the seating at most places.
in the 70s the floor of most coliseums was wide open gen ad
only the balcony was seating

thanks for stopping in dunkirk and hey again 1tt

brother_monk
the chickens cooking are too cool. i saw those in the pics, and was going hummm? what's this?
last feedback concert they had clothes dryers spinning away, and some chick comes out and gets her laundry out.
then later some guy came out and pulled some t-shirts out of one and tossed them out to the crowd
if i go up front maybe i can get a piece of chicken :yummy:

i'll be catching the july 27 phoenix show. have a great time.

howdy mars2112
they get better each time don't they?
my avatar is their new album-snakes and arrows
have fun at the show

I saw rush in the early 90's, not sure of the year, 92-93-94 i think. Primus opened for them, on their pork soda tour. Primus was great, however the sound quality was aweful for Rush. Entertaining show none the less.

I have been to 136 concerts in my days, and still going to them as often as i can. just saw Skynerd a few months ago for the 3rd time, and am planning on seeing Sammy Hagar this fall, and it will be the 3rd time i've seen him, ( 7th Counting with Van Halen).

Alot of great memories there,i always remember the show, its after the shows that gets a little fuzzy.
The time i saw Rush, the poor sound quality is really all that stands out in my mind about them. Not here bashing them, just pointing out they had a bad night.
Primus sounded great though.

But ill give them a second chance if they come to my area agian ;)

Jimmy, what's up man

hey i saw rush in portland, oregon and primus opened for them
can't remember exactly, but the wife says it was 1991, (she's usually right).

primus kicked ass. my wife HATED them, but she only went 'cause i drug her along. i don't bother taking her anymore, i take my kids.

les claypool is the bass player geddy lee tips his hat to when asked who plays good bass. claypool is the god of slap bass.
he played this neon upright bass that was on a stand, with a bow, like a string bass, and whupped out some zeppelin on it. way cool

rush ruled though, sorry to hear you caught the sound guys on a bad night.
i caught the same show later in phoenix. but no primus that time though.

they don't use opening bands anymore :rasta:

Never did like Rush. Bucha young upstart whippersnappers. Singer has a whiney voice.

Not saying they had no talent, just that I remember Cream and Jimi Hendrix and after them, what more is to be said for the hard rock genre? As far as psychedelia, well there was the Dead.

Just my preferences. All I'm sayin'.

hey hey lougrew!
your studio rocks.
very nice. that wall of albums is excellent. nice drums, hell the whole setup kicks ass.
you only missed one rush concert. WOW.
you rule the rush fans and the are the grow god.
i was looking at you're thread the other day and :yoinks: . holy crap that's a lot of bud. i wish i could find skunk around here. haven't seen it in a long time. just crap mexican. that's why i decided to get serious about growing.
well, mine's not serious compared to yours.

any way, the feedback show-2004? was the 30th year for them
and they get better every time.
i found a song by them from before their first album. it's called, 'Not Fade Away'. an old buddy holly song maybe?. it was released as a single in 73 i think.
your set makes me feel like getting my guitar out.
i'm no real musician like you, but i do pick a little bit on my yamaha classical. rush's 'rivendell' is what i like to play on it.

thanks for stopping by.

-------

easy msu73.
try rush's album from 2 or 3 years ago-feedback.
it's all covers of the songs you love from the 60s.
like heart full of soul
mr soul-buffalo springfield
shapes of things-yardbirds
etc.

Nice studio Lou! It looks like your kit is set up in very close relation to Neil Peart's.

Hazy...Not Fade Away is a good song. If you haven't heard it, you should check out the feedback album. It has a number of good covers by Rush including Summertime Blues. Also, if you look around you will find some stuff from the Buddy Rich tribute Neil Peart was involved in. One of my fav's is "Pick up the Pieces"....

No reason to bash the Dead Lou, come on! Seen both in concert and enjoyed both, find both bands have talented musicians IMHO. Nice studio BTW!

stoned2death- your right about feedback. it was a great album and show.
they outdo the originals imho.

here's that original Not Fade Away single:
21635200px-Not_Fade_Away_AB.jpg

you tell him lou.
don't be coming around a bunch of rush fans and be dogging 'em.

their new album - snakes and arrows - has been out since may. it's coming out in dvd mvi format soon too. that should be cool.
their last show of the tour will be at madison square garden in NY on sept. 17 so there's still lot's of time to catch them.
(sorry about your dad lou, lost my dad a few years ago and it's tough):badday:

howdy lotatokin, you should try to catch them for sure.
def leppard huh? bet you came of age in the 80s.

dunkirk, hello i like a few dead songs myself like ripple, that train driving song, touch of grey is cool, and that song about getting busted in new orleans
