ahh yes, one could act all grown up with a ciggy butt hangin' out of their mouth as a 5 years old...
Those tobacco ads on TV at the time (in da 50's & 60's) came in real handy when deciding which brand to smoke when one got to be ten or so...
I think I'll be a macho Marlbaro man, it was an easy choice, they even tasted good eventually...
No wonder I smoked cigarettes for almost 3 decades......early cultural assimilation...
and those big old bubble gum "cigars" with a "real " cigar band...
talk 'bout a good smoke

I will have you know that i drove past a working drine-in last weekend have half a notion to go and check out a flick some time. I would love to take my nephews and niece.

I used to love going to the drive-in. But, I never seemed to watch the whole movie. Always got pre-occupied with the girl I was with.

Quite a blast from the past for sure!! I can remember 23 of those items quite well....Cecil & Beanie doesn't ring a bell with me tho ....PF Flyers weren't actually that big in my crowd back then, Converse seemed to be the shoe most everybody wanted. I tend to be pretty nostalgic....Still have a turntable, LP's and 45's, tho not as many as I once had....Hell, I only just got rid of my Sony SL-HF750 Super Betamax last year! ....another thing that I don't see on that list which was big with the boys I hung around with were toy guns! You don't see those around anymore either....
I was wondering what that Butch Wax was too, 'til I saw the pic above....I had the "Butch" haircut til I was 8, sans Butch Wax tho.... :smile:
