Great thread yall' I used to liver in Ft.Worth Texas and they(Dr.Pepper)stiill make the original Dr.Pepper and Grape soda's and Orange too.And the will send it to you,(a little costly)I can't remember the website but I will look it up and post it.My wife every year for my birthday gets me a case of Dr.Pepper and a case of assorted others.Gwod

Seems like a less complicated world back then.
My favorite was the bottles in the soda machine. Growing up in the desert, we used to go to the bottling plant and pay 5 cents for a coke in a glass bottle. Man that was cool.
Did anyone mention gas wars & green stamps?
Cheapest gas I ever bought - 5 cents a gallon(during a 3 week gas war, two stations on one corner), with stamps.

How about test patterns when t.v. was "done" for the day?

Or "tuning in" t.v. stations via an aerial either on top of the t.v. or erected on a pole outside the house (used a circular dial thingy to rotate the aerial)?
