Started growing and smoking in 1982 for severalyears then got serious about it in 1997 with the internet renessance, over 20 years now.

gave a hippy a lift in 76 and i shared a joint with him , my first , and after i went home an got serious couchlock for the rest of the arvo ..loved it so i managed to score some seeds and as they say , well the rest is history ...39 years a smoker and grower ..never missed a year ..

WOW has belladonna really been around that long?? i grew her in my early days.
i started smoking in 91 and started growing properly very early 2000's.
we'd score a teenth of hash and 2 or 3 of us would go to one of our dens and cane the lot in 1-2hrs.. we'd be laughing n giggling our arses off and trip out in the mid summers sun! then maybe throw up our wham bars n cherryade then maybe have a lil nap in a bush
every now n then we would b blessed with some lovely purple haze or some of the sweetest stickiest gorgoues thai.. one puff and your wrecked for hours!
then i started growing.. cpl yr in i had access to clones.. and tbh most of the cuts back then smash most todays cuts out of their pots completely. man if only i could get some of them today!
i miss those super sweet cannabis types with party highs that lasts.. who remember high quality seeds? lol ive seen some crazy stuff from them back in day.

on a good day an eighth ha ha, them were the days for me narstie the need for liquid was real and we were caught out a few times, the dens, the smokes, the munchies, the laughs, sheer adventure. strain wise there was not a great deal of choice at the time from what i can recall. i'm 100% sure it was available then. its not as if that came to much at all but that was the beginning. how i tried to grow it is the better part, but thats all mine

don't recall HQS per se but I do remember 4 and 6 hours highs that would shake your very foundations. not to mention the double up power they seemed to give your pill buzz.. we were lucky enough to get the Thai down my way but I never saw any decent purple haze.. I did see some in Amsterdam in the early 90's (maybe 93?) but it wasnt very good.. seemed to be poorly grown outdoor and not very potent or smelly... not like the other hazes anyway.. was funny buying weed back then,we'd come from wales where everything was hash and we never even gave the buds a second glance to begin with... I think it might have been maybe the 4th year before we started buying weed here.. mad eh?

Toked fairly constant (daily) about '70-85. Then quit to play the Air Force's reindeer games and pass their "golden flow" tests. Had to think of consequences to not just me but my kids too back then. Then after retired I in 2001 went back and finished bachelors degree and back then the wife didn't like that "Happy Smoke" anyway. But she died '06. Then when I went and filed her death certificate at SS I found out I was eligible for SS disability (over 50 and AF disability of 30%) so took it. Maybe shouldn't have though, but I was pretty down. Anyway, went back to daily toking then too. It felt like I found a long lost friend.
But my health has taken a steady decline since taking that disability. Seems like the SS system is really designed to fuck you up even worse than you already are, make you even more dependent. My deteriorating health issue is totally unrelated to my cannabis use, which actually helps. I have been growing constantly since then (2006) too. But last harvest was last Feb.
Quit daily toking March or April, I don't even remember. Started as just a T-break. Then I had a bad fall in June that fucked me up good. Just toke intermittently, periodically, rarely, sporadically right now. I also currently have kind of moral dilemma about growing. With a cultivation conviction they can take my SS, that'd be a good chunk of my income. And possession of just 20g is a felony here too. My kids always knew what I did and were always scared for me. So in lies my dilemma. But I always knew exactly what I was doing ( grow very good, clean, shit), live in a rural area, and I was a very careful. Not really a problem.
I have other issues about growing right now too. Since June and that damn fall I can hardly bend over to pick up a pot much less mix, water, and trim. I want very much to go back growing, I just physically can't right now. So I might just have to wait till it gets legal, mmj anyway, here next year. I have sent in petitions and have voted. Just playing a waiting game now.

yea i only see the purple haze couple of times but it was very nice both times.. had more of a sweet than spicey scent with purple calyxs was very clean and frosty and was a social high.. but then if were talking that many yr ago we were all pretty new to getting high on cannabis! so the effects would b amped.
HQS were a popular seedbank when i first got into growing.. cant tell u much about them not sure if i heard a rumour that they bred with sams gear but they made some pukka hybrids. i remember swazi and the thai x bb x swazi skunk. pretty sure the durban i tried was from them guys.. think they turned abit shitty as buisness men and ppl in the end i think!
their prices were good and the bud pics they offered were nice!
id need to see their old menu to jog this old memory lol but most ppl i knew who grew back then were all growing something of theirs.
wonder if u got the same thai as we did? looked homegrown to me very high quality! probaly again.. came from HQS
