How Important Is UVB Light?

I've done comparisons between a straight MH for veg and a combo fixture(800w HPS/MH)and theres no question the dual spectrum provides better results quicker.Sun systems makes a good combo with the lamps end to end,growzilla makes a shit combo with the lamps side by side

Thank you for answer Mr. Postman. What do you think about the fluocompact lamps (like Maxgrow) to mix with HPS for completing the Spectrum?

In the veg is different. Its shure that the more light that provide the HPS will make grow quicker some plants but they also grow thiner and with a bigger internodial space, so its not allways the good thing to do. I using HPS 2 weeks before I cut clones on my mothers to strech a little bit the plant, but when i use them all the time I produce a lot less Clones then with MH.

There is an other question I have about this subject.
Every Plants Growed with Horticol HPS I ve do and I see had more leafes in the Buds (like Outdoor Buds too), you dont think that this is an bigger inconvenien that the more trichoms?

Lord preston I should have been more clear.I have an aircolled 1K hydrofarm MH alongside an uncooled sun systems 800 watt combo in a large closet.The 800 watt combo runs cooler unvented than the aircooled 1K.I see faster growth under the combo also when the plants are in the 6-18 inch range,when they get larger before flowering I do move them under the 1K MH though.Only because at this point penetration becomes an issue,if anything vertical growth slows under the 1K MH.The 800 watt sun systems combo is without doubt my best vegging fixture.I used it in flower also with 2 1K vertizontals too until I got another vertizontal,now its a permanent vegging fixture.The only other fixture that would be better to veg large plants with would be the sun systems 600 HPS/400MH combo.I will have that fixture soon.

you have an faster grow with mixed spectrum but the plants are still as compact as under pure MH?
Otherwise did you use MH HPs combo in Flower to?
