It's a pinner because the joint is thin like a sewing pin.

A pinner is a thin joint, hopefully rolled with a paper 1.0 or smaller, and lightly enough to still hit. SoCal early 70s definition, but seems universal in the USofA.

A kinda cool story from MadJag in the AZ section has the dope he brought to NYC being so strong, that when they smoked a pinner they got good and high.

He called it a NY needle. I think it was MadJag

As for the smell, I like to smoke/vape in the lung room. Adds CO2 when I am in there, and the room is exhausted through carbon filters via the tent.

Single width Club paper joints all day no filter or crutch, smoked to the end with a roach clip for the last 54 years, mostly my own.

Then save up all the roaches to make a 1st generation joint. Then save all the 1st gen roaches to make a second gen joint and so on. In my heydays I used to have a box with film canisters that eventually had 16 canisters. First one for roaches, then all the way up to 10th generation. It was easy back then. My ashtrays would have dozens of roaches from nightly parties. Everybody who came would always have there own bag of weed. When we played baseball, football or basketball my wife would have like 10 bags of other peoples weed they wanted her to hold during the game. Weed was everywhere and it was super illegal. Now most of my boomer generation of friends doesn't smoke or smokes buy never have weed because they don't want any around because their grandkids might find it. They still hide their smoking from there 40 year old adult kids. Some of which I smoke with and sell pot too. Secrets... all too funny.

Yeah, probably more realistic to see if you 'tolerate' it... I've got used to it and kind of prefer it now.. basically i have been smoking for 30+ years.. vaping is ok but doesn't quite do it for me... and this must reduce the harm of smoking without seeming to reduce the high.

I concur, having to smoke quickly and stealthily will boost your high so much haha.

Let me share this, it's gonna be long but I hope it's not too boring. When people talk about the times the got the highest smoking weed, I immediately think of this and it makes me smile.

When I was 16-18 I studied at a boarding school because my parents weren't able to deal with me at home . It was a catholic school, boys only. No priests but very strict because it was pretty much a school for unhinged kids.

One of the rules was to have all doors closed at night, but not locked. That way, when the director/teacher/manager made his rounds, he could sneak next to your door, put his hand on the knob and suddenly burst into your room, hopefully to catch you doing drugs or masturbating or who knows. He was insane. Not a bad guy but literally insane. He was very scary, impulsive and unpredictable.

All we smoked when I was that age (around 25 years ago) was cheap moroccan hash, called "apaelao" not great quality at all and sometimes heavily adulterated.

I used to roll a little joint like yours, with half a cigarette and 2-3 joints worth of hash. Because it was so risky it had to be quick. And then I went to the bathroom, stood on the edge of the bathtub and got my mouth as close as possible to the little exhaust window. Heart pumping so hard in the dead of the night. And then I lit the little joint, and smoked the whole thing in under 15 seconds, literally exhaling through the nose and inhaling smoke through the mouth at the same time, so fast that by half joint your lips were burning. When finished I threw it in the toilet and went to bed as silently as possible.

I never again have experienced that kind of high, lying in my bed, heart racing, feeling the blood pump all the way to my feet and back, ondulating like waves. Like the sea. Visualizing a body part in my mind and the nerves of that body part instantly would activate and feel warm and pulsating. Lol.

I have smoked so much in my life but never got so high as those times at midnight in the boarding school. This guy was so scary that it made smoking half a joint an otherworldly experience.

hey @revegeta666 thats a cool story! probably some adrenaline and 'teen spirit; helping the buzz too lol... i think its hard to recreate those early buzzes we got when younger and more excitable (and unrealistic to try) .. i think that's why some people are always looking for old strains etc they are chasing a feeling that was much about the time and place as it was about whatever it was they were smoking...

I don't smoke much lately, when I did it was 2/3 herb + 1/3 tobacco, shortened "smoking gold" paper and carbon filter or jilter.
Now I'm more into vaping, got me a Mighty and lately also a bubbler. Works great for me

looks nice @Koondense ! yeah, if i was prepared to spend the $$$ on a great vape then i might like it better ... but also i can't really have big pieces of 'paraphernalia ' lying around either. I do have a little pipe for finger hash and i should clean it more often !

Yes it was a crazy mix between getting high very quickly, and the fight/flight response kicking in haha. If anyone had opened the door in these moments I would have jumped through the ceiling.

Another vote for the vape. Some of them are super stealthy. Both visually and smell-wise. The small one I have is so stealthy that I carry it everywhere and leave it on the table at the bar. Vaping in front of everyone, never been asked any questions. Used it at the cinema quite a lot as well. If you inhale and keep it in, the smell in the room is barely noticeable. It's smaller than a pack of cigarettes.

I was only kidding Dropped Cat not taking a shot at you VG. I am 67, smoked unfiltered joints since I was 18 and I have PERFECT lung function... Just for the record.
Here is what I always believed and still do. When you smoke weed you cough all the stuff up because it is a bronchodilator. When you smoke cigarettes that junk gets trapped and you don't cough it up..

great to hear you have good lungs still... i think weed is certainly better on the lungs than tobacco (which i smoked for years with hash) and better than most herbal tobacco too i think. THC is not a carcinogen like nicotine either.. but i still can't imagine inhaling the smoke can be good for your lungs. All particulates, even cooking smells, are bad really!
i only smoke in the evenings so i just try to do what i can to go easy on myself. like everything it's all about balance. good aerobic excercise and many other things are important.

That bone I posted is Zamaldelica a few years ago.
A good smoke that was, with lots of good times shared with friends.

Covid precautions, I now share stash to guests to imbibe individually, natch, no sharing mouth to mouth.

Been a few years since I shared a joint or bowl passed between friends.

Got some thunk too, awesome smoke.

I like your breeding threads, and desire to acquire some of your gear.

As you, I have been toking for many, many years, since 1978.

I usually smoke from a glass spoon, a couple hits for personal session.

Your method to sneak a hit reminds me when I lived with mom, as a kid,
with sessions in the bathroom late at night, windows open, and spray air freshener, lol

MTV and Night Flight on the tube, headphone sessions with my record collection.

I may use 5 or 6 grams a month these days, unlike the cannabis whore I was years gone by.

Now growing excellent clean cannabis more than ten years allows a selective, refined experience.

No offense Master Glass is garbage, I too have a MG ash catcher, the place I got it from were out of good ash catchers and I had just broke my Hi/Si and needed one. 1 year later I still need to replace it.

Glass is glass. Overpaying for a rig is stupid. It bubbles, its glass and hits well...why do you need more? Feel free to spend hundreds, even thousands on rigs..it is a total waste. Bubbler still working after 1 year...seems good to me. You go ahead and spend your money on glass. I will keep mine for other more important things in life. Close your eyes and take a hit off your multi hundred dollar rig...you cant tell the difference from a $50.00 one. Whatever floats your boat tho.

Hi @Jellyfish , i don't really want this thread to turn into a discussion about how healthy or not smoking cannabis is for your lungs. Some people seem violently opposed to the suggestion that inhaling smoke can be harmful, but i tend to use scientific evidence, and without being specific about cannabis smoke.. inhaling smoke or any particulates is bad for you. (cooking smells, dust, woodburners etc etc) (i said i can't 'imagine' because my logic supports that claim - as in i find it easy to believe)
Add to that, most of the heavy, long term cannabis smokers i know do not have good lung health... even those that never smoked tobacco.
So i will err on the side of caution. Each to their own.

HI again @Jellyfish, i also posted two links. Like i said, some people think differently and that is their choice. You think i am making up that my heavy smoking friends don't have good lung function ? - that is your choice. You are the first to want an argument in this thread so....

of course i would be delighted if it was proven that cannabis smoke is uniquely harmless to your lungs when we know that all other types of smoke are harmful.. but i don't see how that can be possible - even if weed smoke has some positive effects that cancel out some of the potential harm.

How old are you if i may ask?

Maybe I can give my 2 cents as an ex smoker of 2 packs a day for 18 years. When I stopped smoking cigarettes I bought a vape and stopped smoking weed as well. My lung health greatly improved of course but after 2-3 years of only vaping weed I started having a joint or a bong here and there. Maybe once or twice a week. The next day after having smoked I wake up coughing and spitting mucus, exactly the way I did when I used to smoke cigarettes, in a lesser way. Yesterday as a matter of fact I had 3 bongs in the evening. This morning my throat was irritated and sticky from mucus. Not to mention the mind fog compared to most mornings.

I can understand people saying that smoke from weed is less harmful than tobacco smoke and it may well be, but pretending like smoking weed is healthy for your lungs in any way is shocking to me. Smoke is irritating and carries carcinogens produced by combustion.

Not trying to offend anyone but to actually think smoking weed is totally harmless blows my mind. Everything you put in your body has an effect on it. Especially smoke. Even vaping hot vapor that is sticky from the oils and deposits in your lungs and throat, is worse than not doing anything at all.
