How do you get your buds to foxtail?

I think AN is working on an additive for this. Its not gonna be cheap, but you can't grow without it

If you take 4 clones of one of those plants and ran a test to see the effects of an unstressed plant compared to a stressed plant you will see stressed plants will have buds with hairs not absorbed by growing bud and but will not swell and push for final burst of growth or maturity. Remember, last couple weeks is when the plant is eating itsself because its at the end of its life cycle and trying to finish off its flower/fruit. Just my observations. Don't believe the hype! Only Organics! I smoke this stuff!

Interesting observation; my first few grows I definitely had a lot of pistil that was not swallowed up by calyx, but not lately, only a tiny bit of bleaching the first run that I introduced the 1000W lamp. I am not all-organics yet, but working on it! No reason not to finish up my conventional General Hydroponics 3-part, I figure. I'm looking forward to getting a tumbling compost bin soon!

I think some people here are confused. Foxtails and runs are 2 different things. Foxtails are genetic and runny buds are due to conditions. Ive noticed that buds that run in a room seem to be closer to the intense light. My chemDD can run but only the ones directly under the middle of the lights. Its not hot there either. The buds that are more away from the light didnt run at all with my chemDD. My Thai plants foxtail and people love it. So foxtails and runs are different. A lot of the pics that ive seen in this thread arent foxtails but runny buds.

just noticed that exact thing happening to my OGxCD cuts from rez via GD.....they are not even in a hot area, have lots of air flow, but are still "running" a bit....very long hairs, foxtailing, etc..

im seeing more and more than the best nuggets arent even in the best lights, which totally goes against the convential advice i was taught that you wanted as much lumens as possible over your plants...but i am seeing visible heat and light stress...

ive adopted a new saying "ENVIRONMENT OVER LUMENS".....my best nugs are usually in the corners of my trays..

Yeah for real! My best buds are further away too. I wouldnt say at the corners but more on the sides. Ive noticed this for years. The light rails dont usually run like that.

This plant is a foxtailer on its own, no matter its in the blood. The plant was grown in between 2 big fat colas and no foxtails in the whole room.Heat and plants very close to the lamps will foxtail. With a good sativa, foxtails are great but with another non-foxtailer they are not.:)

looks like my alaskan ice ( haze pheno) big yield, micro buds... i hope i never ever get it back, in my opion only worth of making some quality ice hash

If you really really want foxtails upgrade your lights at the end of bloom. Dunno who really wants this but this will most certainly do it with almost any strain.

alot of phenotypes of strains can do this regardless of light out put , but some strains that dont normaly foxtail can do so when added light and added pk , but taste can be effected

Forget all my comments if those pics are the definition of foxtails! Gotta be an anomoly in the strain or a stressed out plant.

Those examples are definitely anomolies. I'm sure no one is cloning any of those plants. Looks like it grew that way from the start. I'm still under the impression that foxtailing is the final stages of maturation of a plant. Those examples didn't grow normally until the last 2 weeks and all of the sudden foxtail like that in my opinion.
