Holy Grail 1.x an introduction

i grabbed a pack of hg 1.3 back in march and popped them the day the arrived (well 5 of the 15) btw got 100% germ rate they have been vegging for 3 weeks now and are on the 4-5 nodes have 4 plants that look identical in leave and branching patterns and 1 that im not sure what the hell it is very thin leafed and alot lighter green then the other 4
i havent taken pics of this round yet but will take some in the morning and post them up
to get some feedback
keep it growing green!!!

sorry it took me so long to reply
the first one is a bushy hg seedling about 4 weeks from sprout they are at 8-10 " tall now and on 7-8 node this is the darker of the 2 phenos i have seen and like i said out of 5 plants 4 look just like this one



the next is the lighter much more strecthy plant alot thinner leaves but the leaves are much larger then the squatty pheno


any input verite or others who have grown this out is much appreciated

Well, they're dried and had a little cure, first smoke test are very promissing.

I messed up the growing, but the finnished product is still top shelf. The smell is real sour, almost more so than Sour Diesel but different, and the high is right up there with my A99, a real heart racer.
Thoughts are all over the place after smoking this stuff, real creative, so much so that it's a real bummer if you need to pee cause you can't concentrate on it.

Good stuff V, I'll give her another go soon.

Just popped some of your SDxNYCD (sorry not the Orange Diesel yet, saving those for later) last week, got 8/8, all coming along nicely. Is the SD the clone or one of Rez's?

A little off subject...I'm trying to get my hands on your seeds. I keep searching seedbay but I can't find the holy grail, orange diesel, or the SDxNYCD you created. I would love to get my hands these seeds for my next run.

If anyone else can also point me in the right direction I would appreciate it!

Alex, super cool you like the HG smoke. The sour smell you mentioned makes me think its more closer related to the 'BoPoo' pheno of the Grail sisters that you also have seeds of. The new Grail seeds I have are only from the candy smelling phenos since that was the one the testers liked the most in terms of finished smell and potency.

Double cool you are testing out the Sour Double D's. My other testers just got done with a batch of these and it looks like its going to be another worthy strain for release. The lineage is reefs Sour Kush [ ok stuff but lacked in yield and potency ] crossed to that insane NYCD male I used to make the Orange Diesel. Funny since I sat on the OD seeds for a year before the tester results came in. Ive been sitting on the Sour Double D's for about two years now. Maybe I'll do a run of them after doing another run of the Grails.

NB, Thanks for the interest, Alex got a bunch of my project stuff for doing me a giant favor. Further stuff will make it into the Private Breeders section as Alex said. Someone told me you can setup your seedbay acct to e-mail you when stuff shows up using the same search word criteria. Peace.

Right I see, so the BoPoo beans might be the ones I should check out then, I really like that smell.

The Double Sour Diesel are doing really well so far. Amazing vigour from seed, they all cracked within 24hrs, and continued to speed on out of their shells to form stem and first set of leaves within next 24hrs. Fastest seedlings I've had in a long time.

Verite, the SDD are definately worthy of release.

Been curing for a good month or so now, and most has been smoked allready.

Smell is real sour funk, I love it. The high is nice and up to start, moving to a relaxing stone at the end. Not one I smoke during the week, can't get my butt out of bed in the morning after this girl. h:

I ran a crop of these earlier than normal since I heard some things about bad m/f ratios. I got 20 females out of 38 seeds sprouted [ 35 survived ] So I was glad on that turn out. The only other thing I noticed was about 15% mutations. The interesting thing about the mutations was they favored sex. The plants that had gnarling of the growth tip after growing what looked normal for 5-8 inches, those were male. The mutants that had extra branches on certain internodes all turned out female. I did not use any of the mutants to breed with.

Preliminary smoke tests of the seeded plants show this batch is definately stronger than the last batch and closer to what I want the final product to be. Strong smooth tasting weed.


I plan on getting seed packs to auction in Jan. Peace

Yep, they'll be found in the private breeders section. Expect them in a couple of weeks. The more I smoke the more this remains one of my favorite strains.
