High Times / High Crimes - Have You Been Ripped-Off?

m what we've seen for the last few decades, H.T. has devolved into a low-rent stoner version of "Senior Scholastic". The articles are written at a 10th grade level, or worse. They use the word "medicine" as a fetish, ( like guitar magazines rhapsodize about "tone" ). Constant coverage of half-assed tattooed goons spewing metal-grunge-rap-crap does nothing to further the cause of intellectual discourse, much less help the cause of legalization. They play to the very lowest common denominator, not much different from the supermarket tabloids ... a glossy, hyped-up, fantasyland for dropout dopers living in their parents basement.

^^^ that's may explain why Michigan gets 2 "cups"^^^^^

Are those billed as "Cannabis Cups" or under some other name?

H.T. has filed numerous lawsuits to protect their "Cup" trademark.

Where do they take place? How often have there been two of them?

im curious if they will also have a cannabis comp at this and what are they calling the prize?
the country fair cup?
will they be hosting more of these fairs and will this be an off-brand of the cannabis cup?
just wondering

/would totally enjoy a petting zoo tho

The website might indicate a hybrid production.

It's billed as "High Times presents" ... .

They might be partnering with some other person, or entity.

Personally I have never ordered anything from High Times. I knew the scams for what they were even as a teenager. I felt sorry for those suckers who ordered the fake herb and what not.
Then my friend ordered a mushroom kit from there. I told him it was most probably fake. He grew them out and gave me my first mushrooms ever. Well.... I tripped my ass off !!! Never bought mushies my entire life, been growing them since. :woohoo:
I only have two issues in my house, the one I am in, and the 420th issue.

Better to grow, slowly, with a Phototron than sully yourself with that grotesque mockery ... "fake bud".

"There's a sucker born every minute, and 10 sharks to take him."

Hey, I said I had a Phototron but that didn't equate to a successful grow!

In my favor, I bought it used.

The creation of the Phototron was a direct result of the draconian, ongoing War on Drugs at the time.

yeah i remember those
all that "sciency"sounding stuff wiht a testimony form the inventor (a supposed phd)

i dont know, maybe it would make a nice clone chamber
could you describe what it actually is ( looks like cfls in a chamber from what i recall)
/medium used, amount of light etc?

liek someone else said, high times was our first look at kine bud back in teh day ( have some issues from the 70,s i was able to trade for plus the first cannabis cup issue form i tihnk 89')

is it jsut me or did that whole rag go down hill since rosenthal left ( what ever happened to him anyway)?

like they say, you cant go home again...

Ed Rosenthal - etc.

Ed Rosenthal - etc.

Ed Rosenthal is alive and well, living in California.

His publishing arm, Quick Trading, is located in the suburbs of Oakland, California.

Here's his web address: http://www.edrosenthal.com

When we contacted Ed in connection to our forthcoming lawsuit, he had nothing good to say about High Times / Trans High Corp.. In fact, he vigorously encouraged us to go forward with the suit.

Ed reviewed the recent High Times "40 Year" book, but didn't find any of his work had been used there. If he had, H.T. would be looking at even more serious charges.

The more we look into it, the more curious this situation has become. It turns out that some photographers were, in fact, paid for the use of their images in the book. Others, like us, were just flat-out ripped-off without so much as a thank you. When caught red-handed, H.T. refused to admit any wrongdoing, even when the evidence was staring them in the face.

Whether it was absurd incompetence, grotesque arrogance, deliberate skulduggery, or a combination of all three, has yet to be determined. We intend to get to the bottom of it, no matter how deep the cesspool.

There have been other interesting developments that we'll keep under wraps for now, but they'll probably be included when our attorneys file the paperwork in Federal Court.

Sad to hear. High Times is single handedly responsible for my love of all things cannabis. I think every grower on here remembers their first encounter with the magazine and being absolutely awe struck at the pictures and articles.

I still sometimes get the urge to purchase a high times magazine. It used to be really taboo to buy it off the rack....but now I wouldnt give it a second thought.

I guess what Im trying to say.. is that High Times will always have a small piece of my heart.
