Update, High matenance plots.

...........it was another long trip. Spending all day filling and draining the tanks...Things have really been drying out, state wide. These are my high maintenance plots. There are two of them on one remote area, one has very fiew plants, the other has the bulk. The largest one is a lil more than a quarter mile up a steady south facing slope. The holes we dug for these plots are the largest ive ever done. At the small plot, a excavator was used to create 2x3x3 holes, at the biggger one, we used shovels and a prybar, those are 2x2x2, all backfilled withnatures way organic potting soil. I mixed in native clay to help hold water, and Fox Farms American pride.

Fillin RES, Pumping water up hill takes quite a wile.

Portion of large plot. The thing that caused me to use this spot was the great sun exposure..

Other portion of large plot.

Ok..Nows where things get serious....
Reeeeel serious.

I heard through the grape vine that there was a "grow bust" very close to my high matenance plots.. It suposidly happened in 2006. They were doin it on private land, lost it to the state after tha bust.

I HADto see this for myself. My buddy was willing to take me to the site...........It was some creepy shit guys..

It was HEAVILY funded. They owned a $20,000+ piece of gated and fenced property, had 7+ 350gal tanks that were set up to gravity feed LARGE pots, filled with real nice potting soil. Apparently they were huge. Like 4+feet compared to the size of my plants, right now....

The grower/s lived in a pretty nice camper on the site. The camper was visible from the highway, but the opp was down in a valley, on the west facing canyon side. There was pro gardensoil pread all over tha hillside, decaying rootballs from the pots...The cops cut the plants, and tipped the pots over...:puppydoge:

It was very professionaly done, but it was TOTALY not my style..They had very little cover, and had bright colored hoses and tanks, all kinda shit. It stuck out like a sore thumb, abd there were cabins all around, one was about 500 feet up the hill. They were cocky. Well funded, but cocky!...

There was rumored to be a chopper flying around....I have very little details.
Sooooooo, Im kinda shitting my pants.

Yall can bet im gonna be campin out in my truck near my plot with a pair of binoculars August 25-30..I hate chopper paranoia,,

They were into organics....

VERY smart move to leave the large tanks in the delivery boxes...Keeps the sun from heating the water up to 115degrees...

They were planting in bright tubs.. :nono:

Im guessing this was the spine for a coldframe...Splains why they would have four footers in July, at 8000feet..I wonder what strains they were growing?

I wasn't too happy to see this place..it was a learning experience to say the least..

Maby Ill go grab those tanks:confused: There was thousands of dollars worth of grow supplies left at the site. I found a STOCKADE of bonemeal..Ruined by the rain though.

Crazy shit..

Idda shit myself if i knew this was goin on last year. Prolly woulda pulled my plants..

Yeah, that busted commercial grow you went to look at was pretty wack, they were just asking to be picked out by Helocopters, the copters must have flew over the area because there were Cabins nearby, they like to look near dwellings for Dumbass grows.

Wow. Hang in there Fast_Pine. Make a move for those tanks AFTER the season.
If you want to further your paranoia/ have a laugh (depending on your bent) I highly recommend T Coraghessan Boyle's "Budding Prospects". Similar scenario to the busted site.
Anyway, you've done too much work to give up @ that plot so easily. Just be smart & careful. Stay safe, my friend! :D:yes:

I had the impression that the busted grow site you showed is near a plot you didn't use this year, is that correct? I'd say that as long as your plants are well away from houses and other human developement, that you should be pretty safe from copters, there is way to much land out there to look everywhere.

fuuuck fast_pine, that is some scary fucking shit!!! Jeeez I love the pics. Do you think taking stuff from that place would be wise? I mean too be super paranoid maybe they are still watching the site? Oh well good luck bro, I'd love to see you put those into action guerilla style. Be safe man, it looks like you got some great shit going on I'd hate to see it get tossed. Now on another note, great plants so far! They look killer, and you have a sick drip set-up. This is one intense grow, are there ever heli's that fly over? Be safe again, PEACE bro

Please be careful!! You worked too hard for this. You had a picture of your truck at the site with the water bladder. I do not pretend to know your circumstances but be careful driving the truck around the site.

Also it has always been my belief that when rippers take a crop they will probably look again in the same place at least one more year. Not sure the same can be said about cops but keep in mind it was one year ago and they are smart enough to be saying the same as you. "Will they come back for all that expensive grow equipment"

Stay Paranoid Stay safe

Hamstring:...Thanks for yer concern man..Im sooooo fuckin pissed at this guy. He really heated up the area. I was confident that they didnt look for MJ in this area. Now, after this, Im donno. Im seriously gonna camp out a in the state park down the road with my binoculars for like a week during the end of august..I will hopefully know if they got me or not...

Been wearing gloves, soo no prints.

Sharky:..I was really creeped out. I was wondering the same thing. I would fugure they woulda picked up all the garbage too:confused:..Lazy assholes!..

Caligreen:...On second thought..Taking that shit is a HORRIBLE idea, If I get busted they could link me to that shit...Good lookin out man..

Backcountry:..The bust is roughly 12miles from my largest sites...Im really confused about this one...If they got seen by a chopper looking for MJ, I figure they shoulda seen me too:confused:..I feel that this wasnt a solo opperation....Maby a partner defaulted?..

They had little cover and were using a canyon side as cover...If a search and rescue, or any random chopper saw it they would know whats up, and report it...I heard that they were using bright colored hoses, and hundreds of pots...This shit was taking place literally 100 yards off the side of the highway!...

I dont know what to think..As you know, I dont live in California so Im not usually too worried about choppers. Im pretty confident Im outside of our local "chopper alley"( areas with the most hippys and most busts every year)...

............................................................................

Thank you for your continued support guys...
Im really thinking about investing in bags of fake sunflower blossoms:confused:... :headbange ...

Im determined to get more info. Next trip, Ill gather more info and make my decisions based on that..

Im gonna see if I can find a newspaper report or something...

In my area they only search the areas close to houses(they really like checking veggy gardens), and often won't fly over areas away from main roads and such, by your discription it sounds like they were close to some homes, had a camper parked nearby, and were close to a busy road, a prime place for a routine fly-over.
Helocopters are rarely used to cover every inch of ground in Cannabis searches, most often they simply fly over areas close to homes(and water!), so if your plots were a good distance from any homes or busy roads, you were probably not in any real danger from aircraft, searching all the backcountry would cost more fuel than it is really worth.

Great work on this thread. I am interested in the watering devices. It looked like the bladder was full when you brought it. Do you have to bring in all the water or do you have the option of pumping form a nearby water source?
The “No Trespassing” sign, it looks too new so I am presuming you added that. Brilliant! I really love this thread because I could never get away with all that great equipment here in the Midwest. Too many farmers and not enough unincorporated land. You are an inspiration to the rest of us wannabes.

Keep up the good work and above all be safe buddy I want to see this end up with a truckload of good bud it will be a lot more fun than bringing in that full water bladder.
The no trespassing sign is bout 3 years old now... It has stopped someone from discovering my plot once...Coupple a guys were riding round on a quad and acting weird...Came back to check the plot later that day, and sure enough,,there were 4weeler tracks, and footprints leading up to the sign..Guy stopped and turned around, walked back to the quad and drove away. My large tank was like 40feet down the hill.. Had that sigh not been there, Im SURE he woulda walked up on my tank, and found tha garden...This was on 2006. The dusty dirt shows footprints waaaay too well.

As far as the bladder, I fill it with a mix of nutrients, and pump it with a meter, to get the mix exact..The well is bout 5miles from the 2 large plots..Its behind the same locked gate as the gardens...Rough dirt roads make trucking water tricky..

The rain has stopped:confused:

Update, High matenance plots.

Update, High matenance plots.

...The main goal for this visit was to water as much as I could. Would wake up round 6:30 and go water till lunch, eat, then water till dark.... When I left, I estimated that over 2000Gallons were pumped in the last four days,,,,Alot of fine tuning to the dripsystem and water delivery hoses...

Things are running really well now, I learned that its a good idea to drain the system before waterings. For two reasons, One, the driptubing is black and heats the water in the lines to well over 100degrees F. I dont want the plants to get hit with water that hot, so I drain the lines until it gets cool. Usually bout 3-5 gal of hot water in the lines. Two, Flushing the lines often helps to rid the system of debris, like dead bugs that get into the tanks,,I had to replace a coupple a clogged drippers this weekend, all of em on the 1/4 inch spaghetti hose...Wont use that stuff again. Im sticking to the 1/2 inch driplines.

Let the story continue..
.....................................................................................................

The day was hot, and fulla biting flies..Nite was cool and safe, no buggs and less chance of another landowner in the area to come investigate..
Got on a roll and decided to take the pumping session late into the evening.

Clogged 1/4 inch drip lines..Had to cut off the drip emitter and replace.

This is my favorite part of the garden.

Decided to trimm off the lowers on this trip..
