HERMIES!!

I have a 6 month old that I've been taking clones off of. I put it into my flowering room 3 weeks ago. Everything looked ok until I noticed a few male pollen sacks on it this morning.

So whats the number one influence that would change a female hermie? I know that there's several factors such as light heat nute ozone etc. But whats the most common one? Thanks for any help!

Some type of stress. Did you clone them and put them into flower right away after taking cuts? That may have something to do with it.

JollyGreen, I dont think it would be light, I have it set on a timer on 12/12 so there's no flucuation. I have not grown out the clones myself. The people whom I got them from took clones and said they are doing good.

Jubei, I'm thinking this is very possible. The people I got the moms from had them for 6 months and cloned a few weeks before they gave them to me. Then when I got them I cloned them and put into flowering soon after. I dont suppose there's any way to switch a hermie to stop producing male pollen sacks is there...lol. Oh well shit happens. I just hope the clones are all ok. Thanks for the help.

Nah, once it's a hermie, that's it, you can still get female clones from it though ; ) Sorry about your misfortunes.

Lightleaks, did you open your dark grow room to a lit room ever, take pics while lights were off? Have a bug problem? Ever have hermies in your room previously? Old hermie pollen on walls needs to be scrubbed efficient esp in small grows. Were your lights used near something with hermies or males previously. Fans ever near hermies males etc. Once things hit hermie/male pollen it can be hard to get rid of. Crazy high heat with bugs? There are a lot of reasons why Usually light leaks or previous unwanted male/hermie problems. How were the clones transferred when you got them, nightime or daytime? These things need dark when its supposed to be dark and light when its supposed to be light. Anyone of these things can and usually cause hermies when not done properly when not dealing with 100 percent female which I guess 1 in 10 females are true 100 percent fems. I have seen a female stress itself out from a mite problem and made a crop of 100 percent female seeds. It was wierd and havent looked into why this happened but it was wierd none the less. If I transfer clones I like to transfer them before they are hardened at nightime (before they have seen mh or hps light while still under floros) get a completely light proof container like a cooler, and get two small battery powered flouros that they have for 10 dollars at any home depot, walmart, target, etc velcro them to the roof of the cooler, and put the clones in the cooler and bring them directly in same lighting conditions as old house in the new house. This may sound anal but its a lot better than waiting 5 weeks and finding out you got hermies when it could have been avoided. When clones are young they are prone to problems.

How's the old saying go...."SHIT HAPPENS" I have the clones from them which are rooted and transplanted into 16 oz cups already. So all I can do is start over. Clean the room out and wipe everything down. By the way....She's going outside to do whatever she chooses to do and will be hashed and cooked when done. No wasting right. Thanks for the helps yall!

Would putting her outside now (14 hours daylight, 15 hours in June) revert her back to veg? or will she continue to flower. I'm thinking revert to veg. Oh well like I said "shit happens" Thanks again

Pollen won't cause hermies whether it's from hermies or not. The only thing pollen will do is pollinate female (or hermie) plants but pollen actually is only viable for a relatively short time so old pollen probably wouldn't even pollenate plants.

I would guess some kind of stress caused the plant to hermie, if it is over six months old it must have a pretty good rootball, it doesn't need to be transplanted does it? Light issues are the most common cause but any type of stress could do it be it bugs, water stress, being rootbound, etc.

thats why it says hermie/male and I have had old pollen not washed off a grow room hit my rooom before. Thats why it says esp in small grows.
