Hermie problems

ive been trying to flower some white rhino and white widow (this is the 2nd time around from seed) both are female but are getting male sacks on them right from the get go. I have grown bubblegum, ak48, jack herer and i have had no problems with them.
ok my question is this, are these (white widow ,white rhino) very sensitive to hermieing.
im not deviating from how my past grows were grown.
the only thing i can think of is stress when i go from 18hr to 12hr (all at once which is how ive always done with no problems). i plan on trying going down 1hr at a time the next grow but was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

thanks in advance.

you shouldn't have to gradually reduce the hours of light. However, what do you mean "male sacks on them right from the get go?" Pics?

No new light leaks? New additives, ferts? WW I know is definately not hermie prone, and I doubt Rhino is either. I've never had hermies from switching from 24/0 to 12/12. Are you sure they are male flowers? How do you know they are females?

Yea the change from 18-6 to 12-12 should not stress a plant out. The changing of the photo periods just kind of kicks the plant in extreme flowering mode, more simulated and perfected than the gradual change outdoors imho.

What are your temps like this go around...another thing to think about is light leaks like as other people have stated, that is a sure fire way to spoil a crop. Whats your nute regiment, feeding too much or just enough can stress plants.

As far as the widow goes I hear it is a bit more sensitive than most other strains and the rhino has some widow in it. But if you have a slight light leak letting in the tiniest bit of fain light it should not really do any damage. What I do personally is before every grow I go and chill in my grow box with the lights off for about 15 seconds and look for the slightest bit of lights and I caulk over it...problem solved.

Are you growing from seed or clone is another question of mine. You may have some males starting to flower unless they are showing both pistols and sacks. Anyways to make an accurate diagnosis of your problem you have to give more info. Nutes...PH...Temps...Relative Humidity...Nute schedule...Nute Dosage...etc.

It may be the plant, if you take cuts from a mom that hermies all subsequent plants will also be hermies. Something may have happened to those 2 strains during veg or early flower ie...stressed, light poisoning. Unfortunately these things happen, best to start with fresh plants.

Peace...

eh, ive been in the position where i wasn't about to hack my shemales down, so i spent about 2 weeks checking them twice daily and removing the balls before they opened..i've only found 2 undeveloped seeds in my whole crop so far :joint:
