Hempy vs. Smart Pots vs. Air Pots

nice setup redspaghetti, i like the lowes hempy buckets, doin the same thing myself lol

im curious as to why you recommend 100% perlite over coco with 3" of perlite at the bottom like traditional hempy's?

is it because there's more oxygen in the root zone?

how often would you drip in coco hempy's, once per day? and for perlite?

O and thnx for the link mistress, thats what im talkin about!!!!!! do you think coco with perlite at the bottom would be best for this or something more airy like perlite, etc?
100% perlite re-usable, inert, neutral ph, drainage, capillary rise, etc...
coco slightly re-usable, organic medium, ~6.1 ph, 80+% water-holding capacity, etc...

...they are different...

the 3" of perlite in bottom is not necessary. but some gardeners have found this :good:
3" of perlite of top encourages thick air roots, though;)

drip times depend on lots of factors, mainly the environment the plant is in... rh, temps, air flow all affect how much water a plant needs.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=3370756&postcount=180:
50/50 coco/perlite seem to work well... fed 1/5 volume of container 1x/day...end.

coco:
ph - 6.1-6.5
ec - 260
total organic matter - 96-98%
cellulose - 20-30 w/w%
sodium - 78mg/l
potassium - 210 mg/l
calcium - .50mg/l
ammonium - .40mg/l
chloride - 70mg/l
sulfate - 11mg/l
carbon:nitrogen ration - 80:1
air-filled porosity - 9.5-12.5%
total pore space - 93-95%
lignin - 60-70 w/w dry%
phosphorus - 4-8mg/l
mag - 4-6mg/l
fe - 5-8mg/l
nitrate - .3-1mg/l
water-holding capacity 80-88%
color - light brown
appearance - earth granular w/ short fibers

perlite:
immediately above a water reservoir, holds 30% of its volume as water.
@ 20cm(8") above a water reservoir, perlite holds 19% its volume in water...

50/50 coco/perlite =

*coco water-holding capacity 80-88%
*@ 20cm(8") above a water reservoir, perlite holds 19% its volume in water...

maybe fed 1/5 volume container, every 2 days... full strength fert.
maybe, run-off become 2" water reservoir...
maybe passive hydroponics, using sub-irrigation of run-off as buffered res...
maybe ph down to 5.0-5.5, ec 1.0-3.0+...
