help with picking an auto for outdoors?

that sounds like a good plan, should keep them all safe that way from any packs of marauding deer, lol.

it's funny how many time i have said that to myself too this year; i will do it better next time lol. i don't think you guys in Scotland have to worry about air traffic reporting your plants? i like the fort man, maybe use it for your autos again and do the thing with the cages around the outside? to be honest i don't think any deer would jump over your fort even if it was open on top.

Air traffic is a worry GS. there's a plane over the fort every 5 min's
it's real busy with the summer holiday's and all that and it just take's one local to be on one and see it ..and then go looking for it

ive just read that back... how para am i lol

i'll have to dismantle the fort for winter as the vegetation disapere's and it will stick out like a cop at weed festival.. lol

Am going to move them all to the stream next year so watering will be a thing of the past ...so i hope all my new plan's come to fruition next year :)

Its just a learning curve I suppose. I dunno cause I am still a newbie too. Closer to the water source is good. I know you know that closer to the water source also brings critters. Your cages will help there. If you are going to bury the pots, why bother with the pots?

good point TexasMonster, why bother with the pots? near the stream the soil will be nice and moist specially deep down so your plants will only benefit from being grown without pots. or is it too wet soil?

Well that's a good point the two of you's made ...
The soil next to the stream is orange with iron so i dont know if they will handle it well.. all i really want is the moisture. I might keep them in the bucket's next to the stream so i can access the water easily . so the auto watering idea might be out the question .. so it look's like i might have to think again

Its good to look at other peoples point of view but dont let us overthink it for you. That can happen and you wind up wondering why you didnt go with your own plan.

Take a shovel with you and dig deeper into that soil that is rust colored. It may not go all that deep, then again it might.

i wasn't suggesting to use the local soil, just dig a hole as big as you think it needs to be for the whole season, then fill it with your choice of earth mix. this way if there is a drought or you can't make it to water them they can reach into the local soil for moisture.

but of course only you know what's up where you are at so as Tex said you will know best what's good for you.

But as some have said in this thread it's a little obvious esp from the air
Well it`s only about the size of a Transit van .

The soil next to the stream is orange with iron so i dont know if they will handle it well

You sure it`s iron ? if so wheres it comeing from ? is there any peat beds upstream coz iv`e seen water colour up rusty from that b4 .

Stay green .

ps ; there is nothing wrong with a big lesbian in your garden !!!!!!!!

now you mention it MJbadger there is a bog next to the stream and the iron is next to that on the stream bank ... and it's the same on the other side too...

i could use wick's from the stream if i put them on the stream bank in pots...

ive got 6 month's to think about the actual plan so no hurry yet :)

p.s we all love a lezzer ;)

Looking Good there Matey!
Yeah man! we're using the same potting compo bro, good choice if you ask me, its virtually identicle to the tomatoe specific JAB Dargo's using. Its good for Salad & Herb crops, its got a decent PH & i think its real good stuff. Ive added 15% perlite & approx the same in Humas compo from my mate compo bin, lovely dark rich stuff with bits of eggs shell & coffie grounds & loads of other goodies. The only thing i done & its a major fk up, is not re-pot them fast enough & wow, they go down hill fast, 3 days & the damage has me crying, yellowing from the bottom & showing signs of Mg & N def but im sure its down to not re-potting. lesson learned the hard way. Next time im putting them straight into 11ltr pots or its a waste of time & money imo! Congrats on your Plants Bro they look fantastic for sure, i am envyious.
Im still pinning all my hopes on the 60/60 force flower tec, with the swisscheese, the sweetpurps & blackberry are doing well. Been out & done a Sundance today & asked the gods to be fair with us bro. Hopefully they will shine for us. Yeah Nice One Rocket!
Peace & Respect.......Scrogs! ;)

I know Pics! ill see if i can get my camera back again n get some up. I think one of my sites has been rumbled but i know where they live & if anything happens to them they might just have a few items go missing themselves lol! Hope there reading this-BE WARNED! LOL, but i do mean it! & i like the quadbike! hahaha!

Hi scrog's

I got the bower's out of the pound store ..a bloody bargain . it was real dry just the way i like it. so it was easy carry and to mix with the perlite with ..and thats all i done to the compost so i hope it's fine
Your mate's humas compost sound's ideal for the job ... i want some

Tell me about it with the repotting fiasco lol i wont make that mistake again either it's going to be 14l pot's from the off for me next time .

Your selection sound's amazing :tiphat: do you think they will finnish in time with the way the weather is ?

Where's THE PIC's scrog's LOL

Nice job. They must really be stinky if you could smell them outdoors like that. Cant wait to see what the trimmed buds look like.
