Color spectrum, color temperature, same thing, IMO. I'm looking into the digi ballasts, but the RF interference bug has me a tad bit worried security-wise (Just don't want to ruin it for one of my neighbors-ham radio guys). If/When the manufacturers get this fixed I'll def. be on the hunt for a digi. Till then, I'll just deal with the flickering of the light and crappy bulb life.

7'x10' equates to 70'sqft.

286,000 lumens divided by 70'sqft equals 4,085.714285

___ portions are repeating digits. You could always round to 4,086. :wink:

I heard the ballast heat up and there have been fires.....Never tried them myself for that reason.I'm sure someone else will get on and dispute what I said..make sure you vent.

the ' 125w Fluro Environlite ' does NOT have a seperate ballast! the bulb is 'self-ballasted'! the joining elements tend to snap if handled without care.
never heard of one smoking until the above...

DD - these bulbs are good for veg tested one once. With a nice wide shade, you can close the closet door no worries... just be sure to install all the normal safety measures (smoke alarm, relay/circuit breaker on timer/plug, fire-extinguisher perhaps,,,)

Thanks for the advice DocLeaf very appreciated... the one im ordering comes withe a reflective cover, how close should i get the light to my plants? and roughly how long untill im going to need my flowering bulb? Peace

As a rule of thumb - If you can get your hand between the lamp and the plant, without the back of your hand burning, ya seedling/plant will be fine.
Remember that the plant will grow (into the lamp) so always allow some extra room

*The veg time depends on the method (SOG, Standard, or LST,,,) ???

deviousD, he was referring to different types of growing methods. SOG is Sea Of Green, which means a large # of clones, flowered almost immediately after they root. LST is Low Stress Training, which means they are slowly bending, but not breaking, the plant's to maximize light to budsites and keep tall girls under control. Standard is, well, standard.
There are a multitude of different styles of growing, it just depends on your particular grow's situation, needs, and your desires. Since you want to use flourescent, don't they have like a 200w version? You will want a little more light than that 125w, remember, the amount of light on your garden is going to dictate how much bud you pull out of it, so you want as much as you can. Do a search on SOG, LST, SCROG (SCreen Of Green), and also flourescent. Do a bit of reading and you'll be able to come to some sort of idea of what you want to do. There is literally a ton of info on this site. I wish I would have had access to a place like this when I first started growing, instead of having to rely on misinformation, half-truths, and downright lies from persons who mistakenly believe they're "OG's" in growing. There are quite a few master marijuana gardeners around here who are more than willing to help. And loads more in training like me. The search function is your best tool, as 98% of what you need to know has been posted, many times over. Hope this helps, stay safe.

DD - we will assume that you'll be playing with between 3-5 plants, so LST method (low stress training) will be best. This might involve topping the plants prior to them being placed into 12/12 and some training of the main branches)... mans like sativa3000 and the "down-to-earth crew" will point you in the right direction as things progress... Misty are nice compact plants that will be ideal in ya set-up

Hi BudGood2006, he got them from the weed he was smoking over there.. he meet up with some dreed locks who had a ganja farm, they sorted him. My mate told them all about the bubble bags and they want us to go over to st. lucia with them and make them some bubble hash

were planning on going this year!!! (may make up for no cup)

Anyway i have decided to go with the 200w fluro environlite a good friend of mine is getting me cheap grow space is all ready to go hopefully getting the light tomorrow!! the same friend is giving me a plant already started. not sure what yet but it will be nice...... cant wait... counting down the hours till lift off!!!
