Your run off may not be the same as your input- in a perfect world what we run in would be what we run out. But that takes a lot of nutrient or flushes to keep it at that. Evap and feeding and built up will all shift those numbers around. If your in the 20-30% run off on the daily your cool. It's great to watch your run off, gives you an idea of whats happening and if your watering enough or often enough. Getting back to run to waste should help your nutrient situation.
You could always flush too. Actually it is good to flush coco once a week to once every two weeks. Run a bunch of water through it (you can use your system, but it's gonna be a lot of water, and it won't be as thorough as if your do it with a water wand). If your wanting to be super cool, get some Flora Kleen, or Clearex or what not and get any old salt out. Run some through your system to help keep it flowing good too. You can also just straight run your garden hose into em. If you use un adjusted tap water, let them sit and drain, you can then water with a more acidic (5.0-5.5) nutrient solution. This will meet the left over tap water and come up some in ph to right where you want it to be.
A good cleaning with new run to waste nutrients might really help you along. Might not if your solution is somehow out of balance to begin with some other way. How they respond will give you more information about whats going on.
Good luck!!! Your paying attention to the right things it sounds like to my mind- nutrient wise.
