Help design my medical grow (1st topic - hydro style)

Both my options will keep me at 6 plants total, which would keep me in compliance as far as plant numbers.

Both will put me out of compliance at harvest, where I am only supposed to have 8 zips of processed cannabis.

I was just looking at the med m states....

the 6 plant states are not very generous are they.....

If thats the case there is no real sense of doing a long veg......

MIght consider 3 and 3 but move a plant a week????

8 zips .... not so bad....other states are waaaayyy worse....

Looks like B to me......

I wasn't aware that you had a dry weight limit. Seeing that number I'm think you won't need nearly as much veg time either. About how much do you smoke for meds? If you know your consumption rate, then we can find out what the ideal "replenishment" rate would be to keep you within the law.

4 flowering on 15-20 day cycles 2 vegging, take cuts from plants that are being moved to flower, if your growing 6 and have 2 cut's rooting there not gonna say anything if u happen to get a knock n talk :)

i like using 100% perlite with drain to waste u dont have to worry about heat or salt build up.

my consumption rate will be about 1 gram per oz :joint::joint::joint::joint::joint::joint::joint:

I do plan on sharing my excess yields with other members of my collective.

I realize I will at times be out of compliance with the amount of processed cannabis I will have harvested. This will just be a risk that I am willing to take.

I agree that Option B sounds like a good plan. 2 plants under each 1000 watt 4' x 4' screen. They will get 4-5 weeks veg in a 3' x 4' area under my 400. I will harvest every 4-5 weeks. I will start easy and only go with one strain.

00420 - how is that g-13? I have heard only good things.

Ok so fine.....

How about the nitty gritty of the hydro system....

You mentioned chiller....

DWC????

We need the details my friend.....

That is a very simple problem to overcome, just burn the evidence, or even better, turn it into hash or medibles.

I will detail my thought s for my hydro system soon.

Dealing with cold temps!

I am in the mountains and have to deal with chilly night time temps all year long. Yesterday (a typical summer day) the low was 39 degrees while the high was 84. Sometimes are daytime highs shoot up to around 100, but nights are almost always cold. Winters are cold, with the lows frequently in the low teens and highs many times do not break freezing. We saw -10 last year.

My insulated room is 8' x 9.5' x 10.5' tall. It is in a 34' x 24' x 10.5' tall uninsulated shop/garage. I will run my lights during the night hours.

I plan on air cooling my lights on a closed system (taking air from garage, through the lights, through the fan, and into my truss space). This fan will be run on a temp controller, allowing the lights to act as heaters when needed.

I plan a second fan to pull through a scrubber and into truss space running 24/7.

I have the option of pulling fresh air (I may switch to a sealed room in the future) directly from outside or from within the garage. The garage does get warm in the summer during the day.The garage will also be warmer during the cold winters, which will be helpful. Which would be better?

Id say the garage... for a lot of reasons....

You got me inspired in thinking about what I would do for a small medical grow....

This seems to fit the bill exactly.....IMO....

If I were you....but Im not... here is what I would do.....

I really love this idea... and conceptually it all makes sense....

Chiller not required by the way...... since its ebb and flow....

You may also want to reconsider....maybe...

Ive seen warm air like that put into attic/truss spaces cause mold....

I would be careful about that....

The truss space is open to the garage below, except for where my room will be. I am also installing an active (temp controlled) gable exhaust fan up there, but I will keep an eye on mold. In the winter, I am hoping it will help heat the garage a little.

I dont think you are considering coco.... but here is a paper on the use of coco....

What surprised me was the variability of coco....

I think the use of an inert medium is much easier to deal with....

I think the fact that other methods have approached and gone over the 1 gpw mark but I have yet to see that occur in coco shows the reason this seems to be true.....
