hey bro did you figure out why the plants were dyin? are you doin anything different this time?
it looks great with all the reflective stuff like some real nasa shit
good luck

my girls in hydro and coco have super growth healthy white roots then bam roots go downhill, the culprit root aphids and fungus gnats. I've had these fuckers on and off for years, never took a stand, now its them or me, guns out at high noon, bayer complete insect killer

I think they started dying beacuse the res temps got up in the mid 70s for a good week and root rot set in on the weaker plants.
My flat aero systems arent as sensitive to temp swings like the wall is. I think its beacuse the roots sit in air inside the buckets in the wall and have to live at the room temperature. Where as the flat garden always has water pooling inside the chamber and can stay a little cooler.. which is why i added hydroton rocks to the inside of the buckets.

This run im turnin the temps down, no co2, longer veg, and mild nutes. + going to be supplementing with h202 to keep any bad funk out!

Goin for it!!

IMHO...maybe start looking at this as a hybrid NFT now that you have a medium in the pots. You'll start with intermittent watering but ultimately end up running the water 24/7 (you might turn it off for some of the dark period)

really 24/7? I figured beacuse the media i wouldnt need to spray as often?

Ive been searching for a cycle timer that you can set different on/off times for day and night.

Simple digital timer should serve you perfectly. Allows you to set up on/off within 1 minute accuracy. Just keep it out of humid conditions and better to buy more expensive version. Save a couple of a bucks and end up with lost crop.

Pura vida guys! This is gonna to be a learning process and alot of trial and error to get this ship dialed proper. It might take a few runs and many strains...but im in for the long haul.

I was refering to a timer that you could set (example) daytime to 1 on 5 off, and when lights off it goes to a night program of say 1 on 30 min off) most cycle timers i found (and the artdne timer i use) ony has one setting and a switch for day or night or both. It wont switch timing.
But i found a solution.... a simple push pin timer with 15min inciments. I set it and plugged my ARTdme timer into that...wala.

it powers the cycle timer ON all daylight hours and lights off it powers the cycle timer once an hour.

I was referring to a same kind of timer with the only difference being analog - digital. With such a digital timer you can adjust the schedule to what ever you want. If you want you can program it to even 1min on / 1min off cycle - if it comes without any limits to number of timers that you can set within the timer. They carry also option for different schedule for different days so some ppl use it to wank the drop from 24h to 12h cycle. I have noticed also that quality brand digital timer does not let you down while analog timers (just the ones you're talking about) do - never nice to come home and notice that you have lights on because of an ***ing analog timer failure. And please remember not to set it in humid conditions. Timers always out of the grow room.

Peace!

Somebody want to help me find the watts per square foot here?

1K
I measured the canopy for each wall.. 5ft wide and 4 ft tall. The bulb is in the center of a 5x5ft area. and the bulb is 24inches (center plants) to 32 inches (corner plants).

I multiplied 5x4 to get 20. 1000 / 20 = 50 watts per sq ft???

Is that right?

Its been loaded for 10 days now. Veggin 18/6.

Im kinda bumbed about the canna nutreints i decided to go with on this round. Ive had nothing but defiencies from day one. Its the canna aquas a+b veg. I researched the line and thought it would compliment my 350ppm tapwater with a ph of 6.8. I wanted something simple and inorganic so i could supplement with h202 to fight off any root rot that might pop up. Only to find out that the high calcium in my tap water blocks the magnesium uptake in the plants. Ive had stunted growth red stems and pale yellow leaves.

I tried epsom salt..i even tried going half RO water/ half tap. The stunted growth and yellowing didnt stop.

2 days ago i went back to my organic botanicare soup and they already look better.

Its been a battle!! As soon as they get some vigour and start growing again i will flip.

heres the first day in and first day on the canna. (10 days ago)

and today. I know once i get things worked out the yields will come.

heres a pic of a weed donut that i modified out of my flat aero systems and ran about a year ago.

I didnt know what i was doing and only yielded about 8 ounces from 10 plants. I figured it wasnt a good setup and scraped the idea. But after finding this site i think it just needed some dialing in (stretch, pruning) and the right strain.
