So? you are saying what? All figures are cited in that article. It is the best piece of writing I've seen on the subject and like I said earlier in this thread i have been following this thing since spring.

the problem is with the health care industry itself: health care shouldn't be a business and the ppo and hmo's which were mandate of the nixon administration should die die die just like the people who have died having their coverage dropped.the outgrowth of a constant drive for profit is you the insured suffer from poor health care, why is it really consionable that your health/death effects a private companies bottom line?
which is what this bill does legitimizes the illegitimacy of an industry whose motive for profit is a conflict of interest to your health. anyone who believes otherwise hasn't gotten sick or money isn't an issue.this one is going to be d.o.a. to the senate.
i believe if we are going to have an effective nationalized heealth care policy then it should parallel other european countries who have health care for all people.

I have a degree in accounting, and numbers can say whatever.

Just like what they are doing with the cost of the bill, to keep it under 900 bill.

Competition across State lines. Tort Reform. Two things that hurt the cash flow to the Politicians campaign funds. Maybe someday you will wake up.

What, and buy into the fact that I will have to pay more for my health care now?

The article said 45,000 people a year not 100,000.

What exactly happened and how will this bill change that from happening next year.

How will the rise in unemployment help people with out a job now?

Businesses will lay people off because of this, and more foreclosures will ensue, depression.

Is this bill more important than the men and women dying right now in Afghanistan. Is this bill more important, because I think they would beg to differ.

Send troops or don't send them. You know why there is no decision? Votes for health care. That is disgusting. Their blood is on his hands.

This bill wont even show any benefits for at least 3 years.

Like I said... Maybe you will wake up, and see it's all a political game. Obama's precious Health Care bill is top priority. Never mind those that are hungry because there is no work and even less on the way. Never mind there is a war going on. Never mind that there is a nuclear Iran on the brink. Lets make sure we get this health care "fixed". The majority of people don't want a change in health care.

Ah, now we see what you are really about. It isn't about health care at all to you. You are just a part of the republican protest of the president. Okay got it.

If it is easy to label me a Republican, because I believe in fiscal conservatism then so be it.

It is easier to dismiss someone's views rather than debate them.

That is the whole brutal design of it. Keep us bickering about things we have no control over, and never really get anything done.

It is working beautifully.

It always is.

These teabagger jerks are fighting against their own self-interest simply because they don't like Obama. It's pathetic.

Thankfully they're a very small minority that is getting smaller by the day.

Nice to see all the usual right wing, end of the nation, I have never gotten help before in my life, experts in this thread choking it to death with bullshit rants and conspiricay theories. Having read the bill I know that most people here are just throwing out info they got from their biased news sources. Hard to believe some of you smoke herb or walk upright.

I label you a republican because all the points you have posted were brought up by republicans during the debate on Saturday. All day it was tort reform this and grandchildren's debt that.In the end their bill hurts people and the dems bill helps people and they sounded like idiots "debating" their points. They have been playing this all along as a chance to destroy the president and the best writing from them comes in the form of hurting the opposition not helping the people. You want to be a part of that, so be it. Own it.

I must be a racist too.

Usually people who don't have to pay, don't really care.

Hope you are fortified enough, when unemployment hits 20% (just 9 clicks away), that's Great Depression numbers.

Be bad to be in a soup line...

HA! You can't scare me with that shit. I knew this economy was headed for disaster over a year ago when folks were still asking what recession. lol, thats exactly why we need this bill. How are all those unemployed folks going to get health care? Or should they just continue the downward spiral all the way to death after losing their jobs.

Bobby Stainless

I guess you should make employers provide health care???

Wait...

Then they will just hire less people...

Whatever man. If you trust the govt. with... well anything, then you are setting yourself up for failure.

Call me a Conspiracy Theorist whatever, don't care. Still going to spend my days smoking Deep Congo and Casey Jones and snow skiing.

I hope I am wrong, and we all get free shit. I am just a little more aware, that there is no such thing as a free lunch.

There is no free lunch. This will be paid for in health care industry savings and taxes. Thing is it is worth it. We are getting taxed anyway, why not get some thing from it besides a military industrial complex? Why not get some thing for our taxes that benefits the people?

Bobby, your points are well-taken. Its amazing how so many try to downplay the fact that the bill will not achieve its stated objectives and, at the same time send costs through the roof. Thomas Sowell penned some excellent columns last week about the folly of cost-shifting. Too many folks get lost in all the lofty hype over the bill's *intentions*, losing sight of the fact that intentions are far from results!

It is instructive to review the rhetoric spewed throughout this thread. It mirrors the gobbledygook being broadcast through the media. Perhaps those in favor of the bill might enlighten the rest of us as to the evidence that illustrates the competency of the Federal government to organize and manage this scheme? A good place to start might be to name some government programs that achieved their stated goals in an efficient manner.

Just to take this a step further.

We could pay for a great deal of this health care, by instituting a nation wide medical marijuana law and send the tax directly into that states health care fund. State and Federal taxes. The profit margin is there. Pass that fucker at 3 in the morning, like they do others.

I am in the process of moving my game to a friendly state, cause I can't wait anymore. Going the full route, and hope to have a Wellness Center up and going in about 6 months. Farm already lined up.

Another no brainer is tax the shit out of Tobacco... Oh wait. I forgot that money is going into your campaign fund...

It's so funny to watch you present your fixes to this problem. Where is the support in congress to pass your lofty legislative ideas? When are you going to present your proposals to congress? let me know, I'll watch on cspan.

The reason people are getting behind this bill is because it is the only hope for this country. That you cannot see it, no longer surprises me, you are involved in a protest of the president. So be it. Own it.

Bobby Stainless

"Ill let you try my Wu-Tang style"

Simple.

That is political suicide.

The majority of voters middle aged and senior citizens would not approve. The Big tobacco and alcohol industries would stop their flow of cash...

That is why.

Like I said, I am actually DOING something. Not just criticizing those with differing view points. I am doing more than you by going and investing capital into a state licensed medicinal operation, that will yield taxes, and produce at least 4 jobs right off the bat.

What are you doing again? Right... Reading the bill you have no control over. That will cost over a trillion dollars. That the majority (remember how democracy works) does not want.

Waste of time IMO.
