Damn that looks delicious :woohoo:

Heady, you should host a pic or two on here every now and then.............some of your pics deserve to be in the POTM thread

Heady, I'm a big fan and you're thread has been a great read. I'm curious how you're cooling your environment because I'm about to start a new environment myself in the Northeast, but I'd like to harness the cooling power of outside air. I'm also looking to incorporate healthy VPD. Any thoughts?

aw shucks friends! you're making me blush ovah heah :shucks:

i returned to the garden today to find a jar of trimmed gg4 x snowman no. 3 my buddy had left for me. my first taste!

IT'S AH-FAHKING-MAZING AN SUPAH DELISH GUY. wicked good. open the jar and sour lime sherbet smacks you in the face. when smoking it sour lime coats the mouth and the taste lingers after the joint is gone. strong and satisfying like gg4 but with much longer legs.

look at this gorgeous shit.

alota---

i'm a bit too bushed to give you a good response tonight, but i'll direct you to the thread Lets talk about VPD...it's worth the converstion..

ooo and here's an older one started by noreason i just found. VPD and nutrients absorption.

it may be difficult to practice some elements of plant steering in a linear ventilation system that pulls in outside air for cooling. as far as i understand it it involves controlling every element of your crop's environment, so it works best in sealed rooms or high tech green houses where you can dial in your temperature and humidity to the degree hour to hour.

HTH!

Thanks Mr. Blunts :)

I re-read those threads. I'm interested to see your evolution as a grower as I keep seeing you constantly in my countless obsessive hours of research. I guess my simplest question is how are you currently cooling you're room (cfm, lung room). After going through you're thread, and seeing how well rounded you are, I actually have soooo many questions, some I'm not ready to ask yet, like about rosin pressing and coils. My reading to posting ratio is like 1,000 to 1 right now, but as I gain more education I will ask better questions until I can contribute and maybe people will ask me some newb questions.(I have 1.5 years growing and taking mostly losses from random bullshit like snow collapsing ceiling of flower room last year, land lord freaking out on outdoor organics last summer, spider mites on cloner full of dank genetics I was blessed with last spring).
Keep the killer coming Heady, everybody's loving it.

Ok,I can't help but ask, how does rosin yield compared to b.h.o, both trim and flower. I'd love to steer away from that poop soup and I'm so intrigued by your press.

eee! very kind encouraging words---you're more than welcome to stop by any time with questions, comments, or just to say hi. i'll echo mile's sentiments from his thread: everyone's contributions to this thread make it more interesting than i could ever on my own. plus i love a good nerd out and herb and soil are my favorite topics!

we're upgrading to a minisplit ASAP, so i'll do a more detailed post on our ventilation system when that happens. basically we use a conditioned lung room for our veg and flower rooms to draw from. a lot of the design is based on posts from DHF (dun havin fun/dead head fred/etc). RB26 is building an enormous commercial facility rn using a scaled up version of a lung room design. definitely worth checking out just for the wow factor!

i'll use this rosin question as a convenient segue to show off my new press! we ordered a DAKE 10 ton H-frame hydraulic shop press got it for under $300 shipped to our door.

it's got a pressure gauge which in two or three squishes has proved to be a very handy bit of equipment. it's got fluid inside. oooooo.

12751276_629337907204059_877075124_n.jpg

i took another page from sunfire's book and got a pre-pressing die made. this thing ups my efficiency HUGELY. on the old press i'd have to pack a minimum of five teabags to press 15g of material. now i can press 15g per squish! once i get my heated platens i'm expecting to collect two or three grams of pristine rosin each press from our trim.

how gorgeous does this luig13 no. 5 patty look? i wanna upholster my sofa or line a jacket or wallpaper my bedroom with this pattern. my partner and i were joking: smokable business cards? kush coasters? iphone cases?

i only fucked around with BHO for a second, never got into CLS or anything. honestly my body hates it. so i'm admittedly biased.

i'll just say that i LOVE smoking rosin. it has become the majority of my medicating regimen.

i like that while making it i can walk away and pee or make a sandwich or visit with friends without risking ruining a batch or blowing up my house.

i like that i can press each of my strains individually with no change in labor or materials required. we run perpetual so we always have lots of variety (very important to me) and never much of any one thing. im much happier with a bunch of strain (even phenotype) specific rosins at my disposal than i would be with huge slabs of "farm salad" or "today's special" lol.

also i save all my wafers. they could be repressed to gather higher yields of rosin, but the second press is understandably less terpy and delish than the first. so we happily save all the wafers until we get enough to do a big ethanol extraction. i'm very confident after pressing our trim for rosin then soaking in etoh that i'm getting near full extraction of the material. the ethanol extracted oil is then decarboxylated and used for our edibles and topicals.

makin that gumby hash a couple weeks ago got me all psyched on bubble again, so i washed all our gum x wl and skunk2 trim together. they have similarly sized trich heads and i knew the flavors and effects would complement each other well.

here's the first wash 90u after seiving:

when i'm washing material from our garden, i always drink a cup of the wash water and use the rest to water our plants. everyone loves it!

i formulated a new anointing oil last week. wanted somthing super potent, easy to apply over large areas, not too greasy, and completely shelf stable with no preservatives. 2 grams of our decarbed ethanol extracted oil in each bottle!

i've also been totally blown away by the testimonials i'm reading about this new product from foria pleasure out west. vaginal suppositories to relieve menstrual pain! especially effective for endometriosis pain! HUGE step for both medical cannabis and women's health.

since we can't access that company's products, we had to make a version to try ourselves.

each cell holds exactly 2.5 ml of cocoa butter infused with 0.1g activated cannabis oil. foria uses a measure of CBD in their formula, but we are out of CBD material for now, so this is pure THC. we've been referring to them as "pussy poppers" lol.

bueno time's the white x chemmy jones no. 5. she did so amazing on her second run. i think she's gonna bump her sister white garlic (no.1) and my mystery chemx cut off the roster! great head and body effect, complex hot trash rotten onion deep garlic nose. grew well, nice yield, frost for days. love her!

the old rez stock sssdh girls are large and lovely. check out this fan with my partner's hand under it for scale! all four have a sour look to them. all four sharing one 10 gallon container lol.

i'll tack this pic on. i started doing no-till on the 1/2 gallons kinda as a joke, but it's been working great so we're still doing it. same top dress treatment as the 10 gallons.

Pussy poppers lol, that's awesome. Elmers Cookies is looking mighty delicious themselves, although most everything from your garden that graces this thread does. can't wait to see the sssdh finish up for you brother

how do you like the 10 gallons? I know Mountain recommends starting at a 15. Looking at doing 16 25s and leaving the top few inches empty for top dressing.

i always say more roots=more fruits.

we settled on 10 gallons because i can't carry anything larger with my bad back. even with the tens i have to be careful.

our space is extremely limited. 10's allowed us to fit 18 containers and still have a little space between to be able to access the entire garden.

for the perpetual system to function i need to keep 6--10 plants vegging in the 10 gallons at all times. bigger containers would not fit in our veg room.

we couldn't use casters because every inch of vertical height is precious and there are several permanent obstacles on the floor blocking the path from veg to flower.

Looking great heady! Those nugs look awesome and tasty!

Is this the first time running SSSDH? I bet you'll find some nice flowers! Love me some sativas!

Gotta love the simplicity of no-til farming!

Wow man! You are a cottage industry unto yourself. What an operation!
I have gotten so many ace tips going thru your thread.
#1 please do not refer to the flowering cannabis in disrespectful / sexist / vulgar manner. EVER.... For fuck sake!
#2 Always try to recommend only from personal experience. Try real hard.
#3 Light the room not the plant.

I could list all day...

My best friend in college was a Mainer via Peabody Mass. and my good friend during the late 90's was a rural born and bred Mainer. I remember pictures of beer joints only accessible by snow mobiles. Make no mistake Mainer's are different.

Thanks for your interest in my startup no doubt that per word you have said the most with the fewest.

I'm on board where ever your adventures take you!

Good Vibes and thanks!

Uh-yeah.:tiphat:
