I think the 360 maxes out its resolution at 1280x768 or 720p. It will downscale a 1080i pic but there isn't that much material around atm. And I think the Xboxis component out... is that right? No DVI or HDMI?

no dvi, but you can get a VGA cable for about $40 usd, which is what i'm using to plug into my monitor.

i dunno if any of yer salesmen told you that with all new TV's generally 18 mos the lamp inside goes out and needs to be replaced. for a mere 300 dollars well thats what my brother paid. His went out at about 8 months. And also those lamps have hours on them the more use the less output.. Is what my brother has learned he has the 65" hitachi i beleive. Some lamps are cheaper but not by much.. Just a lil hope you knew... peace..

Given the time of day you ordered it, the order may not be processed until tomorrow, and weekends may not be included in next day delivery, so it could be monday now GM, could be a frustrating weekend this one lol.

Yeah your right GMT, the tv doesnt come till monday. I rang them up today
and they said i ordered it too late for it to come today, so im now waiting for monday. The only thing i dont like about the delivery service is this; They couldnt order it to my address cos im not registered or something, or i havent lived at my address for more than two years...WTF!...yeh i know, this is jus stupid. Anyways, ive now had the tv delivered to my sisters, and im waiting for monday to arrive. As for the sage, well, thats almost gone now, and i dont think i can stretch it out till monday, but it doesnt matter. Time to get up & growing again.

This is what it was like a few months ago,

Now im down to smoking tips & bud trimmings that i was going to use for hash
but im jus gonna smoke it now. It may last me till monday, its really nice (cured for 6-7 weeks and has good sugary mint taste for trimmings) and i dont mind smoking it one bit.

I agree that you really have to do research on the tv you want before buying,
or you could end up disappionted.
Ill tell u if its any good on monday, for anyone thats interested.

thanks for the help guys.

peace. :joint:

u may have to buy a scart.....
If you do buy a HD plasma or LCD tv, dont ever pause ur game and bugger off and leave the paused image onn the screen,or it will burn into it and be a "Ghost image" for hours-days depending on the severity.
Same goes for channels on the TV with a logo in the top corner, or sports matches with stats and other stuff in bands at the bottom of the screen, or looking at pics from your digicam on it, dont leave the same one up too long,-my 36 incher has the connections to wore the pc irectly to it but i wouldnt even dream of using it to go online.... basically any static image at all. if you pause a game and go out theroom to gfet a drink or whatever turn the screen off. For channel logos zoom in to cut it off. Same for widescreen movies with the black bands at the top and bottom...
shame they dont tell you about this on the flashy commercials isnt it, hopefull as the technology advances these problems will be a thing of the past, not yet though, mine less than a year old and was the top model wehnwe got it, got the freeviw built in, HD ready, all the bells and whistles...but still this basic problem.

Lcd's don't get burn in like plasma tv's do. I've paused mine many a time and no sign of any burn in at all. I have the 60" Sony as well and my lamp lasted almost 36 mos. Good thing I had the extended warranty. The Sony lamp is easy to replace as well. If you can do it yourself you'll save money over paying the tv guy to do it. That is if no warranty I mean or if it expired.

Read your manual again.. LCD's can and do get burn in.

Theres going to be a new kind of TV [ sorry no lasers on this one. ] out soon that will bring better than tube picture quality to a flat screen. Called SED [ surface-conduction electron-emitter display ] its going to outshine current tubes in regards to response time, contrast and brightness levels.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SED-tv

And of course Sony has to muck it up with their own proprietary version of the same thing they call FED. They even went as far as bringing a lawsuit on SED mfg.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_emission_display

So either way there should be something new in the 'wow' category there hasnt been since plasma showed up.

I have an HD plasma tv and I must say, on sports and movies the thing is freakin amazing! HD channels are the only ones that look amazing though, especially the sports! You can see so much detail I feel like I can touch the sweat or the towel grains.

I don't know if anyone else has run into this problem but ever have it be blocky or parts freeze so it looks laggy? sometimes makes me enjoy regular.

looking at the HD models alot of them seem to have a slow response and the image stretches if the camera moves too quick. I've always been under the impression LCD's outperform plasma screens and don't burn out after a few years? the new 'SED' technology sounds good but it'll take a while for the price to comedown unless theres a crash in the HD market.

Yea I wouldnt count on that, its taken HDTV about 10 years to get where it has. I would think it would take SED about the same amount of time to take off. One thing thats gonna help is the federal government is encouraging broadcasters and consumers to adopt HDTV as quickly as possible, so that analog transmissions can be phased out. Another 5 years and analog will be gone entirely.

I believe that the date set is April 2009 that analog TV signals will be turned off for good. It gives people plenty of time to go out and get an HDTV. So the end of regular TV is in alot less than 5 years, little less than 2 now. But by then HDTV's will be soo much cheaper, makes me regret me getting mine over a year ago.

The cost of HDTV isnt where they get you, its all the cables and accesories. I spent a good bit on my TV ( 60' Sony Grand Wega) and ended up buying this $300 surge protector, a $200 remote, $500 on TV stand and another $200 in cables and $200-$300 on cables.
You can get a $20 surge protector that has like $100,000 coverage if anything connected to it is damaged by a surge. $200 on a remote is ridiculous and unneccessary, and $200-300 in cables just means you're shopping at the wrong places. $500 for a stand? The one in that picture? I got my stand for $30, and not only does it hold my HDTV, it also grows weed. I'm not trying to start anything, I just don't want people to think that they have to spend anywhere near what you did in extras.

The end of analog signals does not mean the end of standard definition TV. It just means that by then, everyone that wants to watch TV will have to have a cable box on top of their TV from the cable company, or own a TV that has one built in.

Thats Odd Bounty29.. Where do you get your HDMI cable? 'Cause i looked all around my area for a 25' HDMI cable. and the cheapest I found it was 273.00 usd. I am prewiring my house for Audio/Video atm and a good cable is not cheap.. I dont know why they are so much money.. logic would tell you that it should be a fraction of its asking price, but there not:(...

yes but its not just a surge protector. If that was the case im sure a $20 one could have been purchased. However, its a sirge protector as well as it cleans the signal that is coming thru for a cleaner image as well as it also plugs up my phone and AV devices. And honestly , if you spend alot on a TV and AV eqip then you really shouldnt cheap out on a $20 surge protector.

The remote some could say is a bit much but its a matter of convenience to me. TV has a remote, HD box has a remote, DVD player has a remote, stereo has a remote, receiver has a remote and my lights have a remote. So instead of 6 remotes i got one remote that works them all plus has other features i like . it has a touch screen and if i run my finger from left to right on the screen it turns my lights on for me, stoners dream late at night to not get off the couch.

I see it this way, if youre gonna fork out a few grand on a tv then why not a few hundred more for nicer accessories to go along with it. It would be like going out and spending $4000 on a suit then going to payless shoes to get a pair of shoes for the suit. Its just silly. If youre gonna spend 3k on a tv what is another 1k on calbes and what not.
