Chinese cannabis from the Yunnan province?

M

michael68

I've been lucky enough to receive some beans from a very close friend of mine who visits Kunming quite often and has family there. I've been trying to do some research on the region and apparently drug cultivar cannabis isn't too common there due to being China and all but some is clearly cultivated in the outskirts.

Anyway the smoke and beans he got were from the same person, no hash either, he described it as a "powerful and sweet/minty cherry smoke". Not much to work with at all, not much description on the plants either besides some small compact and some a little bigger. So I assume there's something real nice to be found.

Anyone have experience with these? Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to grow some this year, indoor or out. :/

Why, may I ask?

The Asian genetics as a whole are the most exciting and varied in cannabis genetics. From phenotypic expressions the variations from comatose effects to the wildest, funniest, scariest to electric can be found in China Yunnan.
Environmental conditions/triggers have a greater effect on this particular region of genetics than on any other region I have grown.

I have grown out genetics from every corner of the world. I have a genetics library containing over 150 strains/hybrids. I have grown out at least 80 of them. By far landrace/geographic specific, regional genetics are my favorite.

The expressions and highs from China Yunnan are very special. The breeding advantages with China Yunnan, especially for Northern outdoor growers is un equaled. It can easily replace ruderalis in breeding programs.
. While Ruderalis is two to three weeks faster on average flowering onset. The final quality of genetics is vastly inferior. Dubi is very deserving of much credit and gratitude for bringing these genetics to the masses

I certainly hope that he would re release them again. When they first came out the average grower, hell even breeders. Didn't know/understand the full potential of China Yunnan genetics. I have strived throughout my years of growing to gain knowledge about acclimatization and genetic frequencies.
China Yunnan in my opinion has more to offer in quality than any other genetics base. It should be esteemed and revered as the legendary work horse it is. Without breaking out notebooks and going into piles of observational notes. Please trust my years of experience in comparison of these genetics.

I do not see anything particularly interesting on Ace Yunnan terpenes tests
ChinaYunnanterpenos.jpg

Pinene (Alpha + beta)/Mycerene/Limonene at majority with ~2,6% concentratiion
However, if you talk about interesting landrace with potential to be a hash plant - you've got my attention : ) Also with this piny-hoppy terp profile.

@farmerlion do you remember anything particular about the effects that got you?

I’m currently running a pack to do open pollenation as we speak. 1 female, 3 males, and 1 female Hermosillo that was removed and a male herm that was moved. Enviroment/small pots doing this run with males might have caused it to herm or just is. And the female was tipped before flip so stress could have made it go. Going to hold on to that and put it I. A regular run in the future to see.

I’m pollenating all my sativas in hopes of a non afghani hybrids for my small tent area and outside in western Ny.

Piecho;
Because of my style of growing greenhouse/outdoors. My phenotypic expressions can be slightly stronger in some and might be lesser in other cannabinoids.

As an observation going back 8 seasons in my greenhouse that holds true again this season. My Asian Thai genetics take on a very earthy forrest fruits/ berry's aromatics with some spicy undertones.

I did some testing of genetics this season from indoor selections being grown in my greenhouse. The Blue Magoo Bx3 crossed to a Blueberry from DJ. The two shorter stature plants had early onset of flowering. Both Phenotypic expressions produced high amounts of trichomes. The green phenotypic plant has the most consistent density of Trichomes I've ever had whole plant.

The China Yunnan is one of the most interesting plants I've ever had the pleasure of growing. Green and burgundy meristems a great Sangria taste that is evident in the jar and exhale.

Not to mention if you use her in your breeding (projects, experimental mishaps or curiosities). The China Yunnan is very forgiving to mistakes.
But?
But?
But, if you grow using my Microbial Repositories System of feeding smoothies as They have come to be known in my very small circle of influence.
You can push the envelope of personal quality to the point you have to try not to be rude when others offer you some of they're dispensary herd.

If I could only choose 10 strains out of my library; China Yunnan would solidly be on that list between 5-7 as a foundational cornerstone of quality genetics.

A tragedy in indoor growing especially is the hype of product performance delivered quality and terpenes expressed?!...If these Synthetic Nutrients and Hormonal Terpene Graduants were all that and a bag of chips, we'd all be smoking Dispensary grown, wouldn't we?

I spend a month minimum to two months on average doing soil and environmental conditions preparations.
Before the first seed or prepared clone sees a grow bag, that grow bag is churning with Microbial colonies and earthworms. That plant can't help but be exceptional meeting the requirements and environmental conditions and triggers.
