booo ,..very common with old seed tho.. They are often alive, but lack the energy to fully sprout, so you get the tap root but nothing else ,.. I think you've done very well getting 70% can't wait to see what comes from those packsSad news. One of the seedlings just stopped and died. The tap root had gone in to cube and case had half opened but it went no further.
The rest are doing fine so I have 7 chances to find the 13 week girl. I’m still hopeful.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I agree, my theory is that the endosperm degrades and leaves the embryo with nothing to fuel early development. Some kind of replacement endosperm applied to the cracked open seed might be the thing with old seeds. A whole other endeavour. I have enough on my plate lolbooo ,..very common with old seed tho.. Not trying recreate anything bro, the tall, sparse, light green 13 weeker is one of the two most common female phenotypes in that release so unless I’m very unlucky, she will be among the babies. I’ll mother all three of the female phenotypes if I get them and I plan to flower any males and preserve the pollen.Cool beans, you decided to hang onto em for some pollen storage. Still interested in a cut if you end up with spare material. I think those haze males, if you don’t dine it this season, are going to be as valuable as the females in your search for the 13wk finisher your trying to recreate.
Interesting theory, sometimes late males take a long time to show sex. Might be a bit early to say for certain when you gonna flower em out ?Update - Interestingly, the NH at 5- 7 nodes, looks like all 7 are female. If the three that didn’t grow were male, that would be the same ratio I got in 2008 with the same era seed… I wonder if male seed degrade sooner? I mean, men die sooner than women so there’s a pattern maybe.
Absolutely true, it’s too early to say for sure.Interesting theory, sometimes late males take a long time to show sex. Might be a bit early to say for certain when you gonna flower em out ?
Felt the same bout ACE. The Cook up some Nice gentics and lovely pics. But the smoke seems weak, and not really interesting. Tried A5 fem, kali c, pan malaw, golden T fem, bangi h, hazexmalawi ... so maybe they still hold some gems dunnoAce? Hope you have patience, like nanas and the taste of hay. I’ve grown many Ace varieties. Tikal original, Tikal updated, Purple Haze x Malawi, Panama Haze, Neville’s haze x Malawi, A5 x Malawi. Panama was the only half decent smoke. A hint of incense and musk. Level 2. The rest ended up getting bubbled it was so shit.
Real pheno #1 NH veterans have a different standard though. You might like them.
#2 finishes at under 6ft, finishes cleanly. Aces just never stop making pistils.
The buds are rock hard clusters like grenades, encrusted with trichomes that make them look like core cut amo. Ace haze buds are fluff and stem and immature seed.
Thanks manFelt the same bout ACE. The Cook up some Nice gentics and lovely pics. But the smoke seems weak, and not really interesting. Tried A5 fem, kali c, pan malaw, golden T fem, bangi h, hazexmalawi ... so maybe they still hold some gems dunno
.. but as many as Spaventa and I mentioned I think I just not our cup of Tea.
Hope you get some nice stuff out of your beans.
The 7 mums are happy. The clones just went 12/12. The smells are exactly right. These are the plants I grew in the 2008, I’m sure. Leather, Frankincense, old church, it’s all there and loud from just opening the tent, in veg.Any update?
