The main driver isn’t co2. Co2 can’t warm without sunlight. If the sun goes out, all the co2 in the world won’t do shit.
The sun cycle can also raise the average temp of the earth when it’s at a solar maximum.

Increases in co2 can only heat the earth by absorbing photons, then kicking them back out as infrared radiation that does the heating. Those photons come from the main climate driver, the sun.
