yeah, i won't take the jab so bring on the Delta variant!!! Here is real world proof (i.e. numbers) of how less deadly Delta is:

Delta or Indian Variant - Real World Impact? We Now have the DATA! - YouTube

i will skip the hospital - if i am going to die i want to die at home. on my balcony. sipping on my vaporizer.

so, like the "W" said: "bring it"
Can't help but wonder why this gentleman is only one pointing this out. Generally those who produce the graphs and charts he is using, are the one's to first spot and comment on such trends. Why is that not the case here ? Are you personally familiar with this individual ?
Do recall being told the two places one never wants to die are a jail or a hospital.

i was seeing this here in Switzerland too on the governments covid numbers. almost no one is dieing or getting hospitalized.

in fact our government has declared as of Saturday there will be way less restrictions. mask rules are being loosened, clubs will get to open and have unlimited numbers again if vaccinated, big events will be allowed up to 1000 or unlimited if the event is only for vaccinated people. no more masks for kids in school or for adults at work. those that were doing online learning can go back to the universities, businesses can can run at full capacity. we can sit as many as we want at a table in restaurants again. lets see how long it lasts, at least we get to enjoy the summer a bit more.

in fairness, this is exactly the same as last summer here, the numbers went so far down that the gov even allowed sporting events again, before things changed in september and all restrictions were back tighter. so i also don't think we are finished with covid yet, it will probably come right back again in autumn. but it's great to open up while we can. people need a respite. if things go down hill again we can always back peddle and if we are really lucky the 50% of over all population (80% of endangered population) who are vaccinated added to those that had it will lead to herd immunity finally. time will tell.

"great to open up while we can". why yes! lets do that & start the fall spike early. i don't see a downside to opening up just as the more readily spread variant fires up. lol...

if we don't open when the numbers are good, when do we? pray tell, are we supposed to stay closed down for ever? we have the vaccines on the vulnerable, we have treatments and we have dream like numbers compared to the beginning, what more are you wanting? are you just happy to stay home for ever or whats the deal? when exactly is it ok for governments to return our freedoms?

Here we are seeing things opening up as if all were fine. We are seeing a split result. The forward projections are that the Delta variant will be brutal.
It is coming on fast mean hard. Far easier to become infected with it. Results are far more severe.
Hearing that rural hospital systems are becoming overloaded in MO, that is what one normally expects to see in urban areas traditionally. 60% of those in the ICU are under the age of forty. It is Not just hitting the old people.
It is a good time for those who may have wanted to get vaccinated, but have not yet done so, to do so.
It is also a good time for those who have decided not to get one, to reconsider.

The vaccination clinic I’ve been helping out at seems to be winding down.
They’ve been slowly reducing the number of days/hours.
At present, it’s two half days per week.
I was called off this am because there wasn’t enough people signed up.

Nearly all of the people who died from COVID-19 in the U.S. in recent weeks were not vaccinated, the Associated Press reports. Just 150 of the more than 18,000 COVID-19 deaths in May were among fully vaccinated people, about 0.8 percent, according to an analysis by the outlet. The data underscores the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines as demand for them has slowed to a grinding halt. Dr. Rochelle Welensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, encouraged Americans to get vaccinated and continued to tout the efficacy of the vaccines. “Nearly every death, especially among adults, due to COVID-19, is, at this point, entirely preventable,” Welensky said. While the U.S. has administered more than 319 million doses of the vaccine, the U.S. averaged 1.05 million vaccinations per day on June 22, down from 3.97 million shots given on April 17, according to Bloomberg’s COVID-19 tracker. The White House announced Tuesday that the U.S. will likely miss President Biden’s July 4 goal of administering one dose to at least 70 percent of Americans.

I suppose the mere thought of it makes me a bad person, but another way of looking at it is that approximately 300 trump supporters are dying every day.
How many days until the next election?

All ya’all know you were thinking the same thing!

I never admitted that I derived any pleasure from having such thoughts.
I’ll have you know I am ready to JAB anyone one of them should they come down to my clinic.
That is something that would make me very happy!

we're in the same state where it's stupidly easy to set up an appointment, plus you can possibly win some money for getting jabbed...i'm happy to admit it gives me a little tickle to see the "i was wrong and should have gotten the shot" hospital interviews...tragic,yes. but if you're getting your vax info from youtube you're probably being steered in the wrong direction...

you don't even have to make an appointment here, nor show ID at some of the free clinics here. want a shot? free for the asking. pull up to pharmacy & roll up your sleeve.

There's a few bad taste jokes that I could make around McAfee but I won't.

In Australia we stocked up big on Astrazeneca. I was all set to have it until the government changed their recommendations that anyone below 60 should get pfizer instead due to the clotting issue with Astrazeneca. Problem is, not enough pfizer, or distribution issues, so still waiting. Luckily there is not much of a problem at present where I am but I really wish I could get vaxed. I have vaccination envy when I read you can just walk into a place and get it.
Just a waiting game.

you don't need youtube, to know the vaccine for covid19 is still in human trails, that its only been given emergency use authorization and that its based on a tech that has never before successfully had any vaccine based on it, authorized for use in humans.

Covid 19 coronavirus: New Zealanders first to trial Chinese-developed vaccine

24 Jun, 2021 11:20 AM

A group of New Zealanders will be the first humans to trial a new second generation covid vaccine out of China.

About 25 young people have this week started being jabbed with the ReCov vaccine as a part of a clinical study.

The trial is being run in partnership with vaccine developer Jiangsu Rec-Biotechnology in China and New Zealand Clinical Research, which has centres in Auckland and Christchurch.

NZCR is running the trial which will see 100 people vaccinated with ReCov by September.

If successful, a larger trial involving thousands of participants would likely also be carried out in New Zealand.

The vaccine will be tested on both a younger population and an older 55 plus population.

NZCR medical director Dr Chris Wynne said they have already started administering a low dose of the vaccine to 25 younger participants.

Once their data was reviewed, the older group would be given the lower dose at the same the younger group got the higher dose. Lastly the higher dose would then be put into the older group.

"We go reasonably slowly. So we dose some people and assess the response and so far there have been no particular issues and we don't expect any, but we are extremely cautious in how we do this according to the protocol."

Wynne said New Zealand was seen as a good place to run a clinical trial because it had a good health system, had a compliant population and could produce high quality research data for the pharmaceutical industry. It was also considered low risk as there was no Covid in the community and there was still a large population who had not been immunised.

He said there was some incredible research coming out of China and the ReCov vaccine and could potentially be better than the current Pfizer vaccine favoured by the NZ Government.

Unlike the Pfizer vaccine, ReCov immunises against two parts of the immune system.

"So theoretically if there's a mutation in one part of the virus some vaccines will no longer work - the virus may escape the vaccine, but if you've immunised against its two parts you have a much greater chance that the virus will not escape from the immune system."

While the Pfizer vaccine was wonderful and provided immunity to 90 per cent of those who were vaccinated, he said there was a need to be prepared for coronavirus long term and develop more safe and effective vaccines.

Once the current trial showed that it could generate immunity and the vaccine was safe, a much larger second trial would be carried out and it was possible the expanded study could be carried out in New Zealand.

"I would expect that from the animal data, this is likely to be a successful vaccine. So here we will have 100 people who will be successfully immunised."

Other Chinese vaccine makers have conducted human trials in Austria, but this is the first time a Chinese vaccine had been tested in New Zealand.

An American and Asian based company were also in talks with NZCR about running their Covid vaccine studies.

However, the trials need to be carried out swiftly while the majority of New Zealanders still had not had the Pfizer vaccine, Wynne said.

NZCR is still recruiting participants for the ReCov study and offers just over $3000 in compensation. A large number of participants tended to be students or younger workers.

ReCov has been assessed by a panel of international experts and reviewed by both the New Zealand Health and Disability Ethics Committee and MedSafe.

"I wouldn't do a study that was not in my opinion safe enough for my kids to go in," Wynne said. "There's no higher bar than that."

While that may be true, the past seven/eight months have demonstrated that the mRNA vaccines are amazingly effective.

Well - 2 jabs AZ - Last one was early June - and I'm fit as a fiddle - so far - it has helped that I've transitioned into somewhat of a pool and now gym nut - lost 30lbs - and designed my life around the physical once again - rather than just the 'erbal - which during lockdown was definitely much comfort - but these days I seem to get most of my great feelings of well being from swimming - as a sort of reward for doing it -
