This thread is great, the OP is hiding. I shot my finger twice with a crown stapler during my warehouse build. Right through the sheathing and ricochet off the stud. Sticking straight into my middle finger. Hit the bone and the finger went totally numb. Freaked me out, and hurt quite a bit afterward. So glad the build part is over.

ive seen something similar when shooting 2" brads into hardi trim during fitting up before final fastening.

they will literally make a 90 degree turn and come out one side or other. never got close to injuring myself though.

a brad was the wrong fastener for hardi. too weak and pissy. for sheathing you need something like an 8 or 10 penny nail with ring shanks. i hang osb with my siding nailer though, .093 shank.

Ive never nailed myself (I have stapled myself tho)... About ten years ago I had to pry my bosses hand off a 2x6 after he shot himself with a framing gun.
Also had one of my employees shatter his arm last year after he unclipped his safety harness and proceeded to take a gainer off a roof... Shit happens but it happens more often to dumb asses (which there are a lot of in the construction industry.)

I cut a section of floor out someone hard nailed their shit down oh I laughed so hard. Fucking jerry...

You got it fucking meatheads... though sometimes careful guys like me take a digger off the retaining wall with a chainsaw in their hands. Tossed the saw but didn't have a chance to catch myself and I fell and fuck ed up my back
Its getting better now but I sold my construction company, I'm done doing that shit I'm just going to grow
