im fairly sure that only 2 of RC's 3 gold briks were seized.

and i dont think any HS customer orders that were intercepted were ever notified officially of anything.

Actually iirc, gypsy was known for a post or two on OG.. I remember when the IC mag launched.. he hyped up us soo much over there about it pre-launch we were all salivating like harvest time.. and iirc as well, he offered free issues of the mag to people who signed up early

God I miss that place you literally got like 10+ replies to ANY thread about anything in <5 min.. the sheer mass of active members was astonishing. And the knowledge OH GOD!! As someone said.. they were HARDCORE about the green and were more than happy to share it with anyone who wanted to learn.

NIMBY was the one that got me interested, my first view of DWC, and he wrote great articles. LOTS of others. the GrowFAQ was priceless ... i have a link to a copy someone saved, too bad it couldn't be updated, things move on but its still great for beginners especially.

I have a lot of nostalgia for it, and the interaction between the knowlegeable seniors and the newbs was great, and even the silly threads could be a laugh ... but when I think back, I got tired of a lot of the junk threads after a while ... it seems more mature here.

I remember reapers hash-blocks he made with a drum, a screen and a motor. They were enormous and almost totally pure from "green" stuff. And he threw away whole pallets of green leafs every time he harvested. I am still amazed !

What would be really cool is if I could get hold of OG and run it in conjunction with ICMag somehow, kinda merge the two in some way so that they each complement each other.....so much good info from OG is just sitting there somewhere waiting to be un-locked again....

I think with the fall of OG came a big wake up call for a lot of the people bringing information to the table. The real thought that they could get busted and that nobody was safe. That was/is still a real concern.

If anyone is going to be able to get those hard drives, it's going to be from somebody at icmag. I imagine getting those old pictures and being able to achieve that forum completely. A thread that sticks out in my mind was when you went to british columbia and met with some growers up there. Those were the biggest indoor stalks with vertical lights I ever seen.

Gotta get those hard drives to a safer country. I can't see how the police can keep them. It's personal property. Contact RC and a lawyer.



PS- I second the motion to keep High Times out of the picture at all costs. ICMAG has something that is uniquely truly special and intelligent in flavor. High Times all though popular, does not come close. I would work for free for the cannagraphic over getting paid to work for HT!

i'm sorry, but with all respect, Gipsy, ICMAG, as much as i love it, is just the pinky toe on overgrow's huge ass feet.

hell, unless it was a dream i remember they even had an experiments sub forum, as in, people messing around with auxins and giberillins and all that other cool crap!

There was even talk of gene-splicing, well, i'm sure there's gotta be a thread here somewhere, but people there were serious, and they actually had the resources to attempt them!!!

That's what was great about overgrow... I don't knwo why the phenomenom hasn't been repeated here, but they attracted a caliber of smoker that is usually the most un-integrated into stoner society. I truly believe overgrow could have been used to orchestrate large demonstrations and political movements.

Meh, maybe i'm just remmebering a grand past that never was, but i sure miss OG...

I actually think O.G. is why marc emery was targeted so badly. If I remember right, he was the major sponsor, or the seed company heavens gate was. I think the government saw him getting the cannabis comunity organized, and didnt like it. So they shut him down to shut Overgrow down.

Emery was busted before OG went down and had nothing to do with that site, as I remember it he didn't like OG at all and OG didn't like him....I was the first ever sponsor of OG and actually arranged a server fund that bought OG's 2nd server.....then RC bought OG from foolgirl and nl420 and advertised his site Heaven's Stairway on it and still let me be a sponsor so long as I paid a fair amount every year......

That thread myself and Bubbleman made in Canada was call 'BC BUD......TO THE MAX!!'......and had me lying on the floor in this BC growroom taking some awesome pic's of these humungously massive 2lb+ yeilding BC Big Bud plants growing indoors under 930 watt sodium conversion bulbs that were suspended at intervals without shades vertically not from the ceiling but midway down in the room so that all the side branching buds got maximum lumens......the ceiling and walls were completely covered in mylar so that the plants also had plenty of light on the tops......yeah.....would be absolutely fantastic to be able to get hold of those gems of threads again......

I never posted or registered on OG but read lots.

This home town place disappeared right after the shit hit the fan. I had bought my first exotic seeds via GL. I see no reason why he could not have still continued but hey, safe at home. Their seeds were delivered & the seeds when grown were as described.

There's some other stuff that's interesting but its late...I mean seeds fairly cheap $$$ LoL

Well I think it is important to remember that OG is gone. Even if it came back it is gone. OG was a community that was abandoned.

Even if it came back, and lots of people went back, it would still be a ghost town. The community is what makes a site and the community is now here. I miss OG but it's kinda like missing an ex-gf. Even if you got back together things wouldn't be like they were before. Know what I mean?

Anyway people I miss, aside from just folks I talked to like F1 growers, and wannabebreeder, rahan, and other folks.

I miss di wee dalats thai thread. Where the chopper pilot from nam went back to thailand or where ever and re found that massive field of sativas and the same french family growing it thirty years later.

I miss Derraylds giant african sativas. Reapers massive bunkers and pictures of half naked russian hos. My old sativa thread, lots of stuff.

Emery did have a beef with OG, because it was bigger than his cannabis culture or whatever. I respect emery for the most part, for what I know about him but my thing is why the hell is there a 'pot hierarchy/monarchy'?? hahah..the prince of pot? the king of cannabis? these guys all have really inflated egos. I would denounce those titles if given.

who remember lumbo? and his LST thread. Very cool character although I don't think LST was his idea but it might have been. I also remember some other guy who was all into butane oil, I still see his thread being past around. So many good things going on back then I wish I knew what I had back then. ICMAG is the continuation of Overgrow. without a doubt.

It's pretty simple. There are tens of thousands of members and the site popping back up suddenly doesn't mean everyone returns to the site with their handles. It would be up and running with a bunch of empty accounts.

Even if a third of the people went back IC would still be much larger than it now.
