H3ad goes Coco

TribalSeeds

Mhmm, Ive used magic green as a foliar and they responded great.. Last time was about 3 weeks ago. For a while I was using Roots excel, drip clean and silca but have now dropped all those and running straight 6/9. PH pen is calibrated once every 2 weeks so I dont think it's PH. Ill stay strictly on 6/9 for a while and see how they respond.

Were you using Silica when you posted in your last thread that you were having issues with 6/9 using RE and DC? Or did you add that to boost K? If so, was that using the calculator?

I have since dropped those products and the plants cleared up nice. I never put the silca into the calculator.. Couldnt figure out how it worked. I'm just going to up them to 6/12 and see how they respond and go from there.

Tyga,

That looks a bit similar to what I've been experiencing in my new sealed space w/ co2. Larger plants then I'm used to.. off to a rocky start as I was using un-rinsed coco from garden abandoned mid-grow.

Everything is thriving now, but I'm still see the below move throughout the plant.. bottom up.. but also inner guts of the plant. No longer twisty though..

6/9..everyday to little run-off.. pH orangish on drops.

I'm no longer seeing the twisting now that I've flipped to flower and did a good heavy run-off with half strength 6/9. Returned to 6/9, but still seeing deficiencies similar to you.

Thinking about trying the 6/12.

Yeah it's def the strain im running because the rest being fed the same schedule are looking nice and green. Chem's and sours have been loving it. Im going to hit a few of the worst looking ones with 6/12 and keep the others on 6/9 for now. I just flipped mine about 6 days ago but are being kept under t5's until they are sexed.

Tyga Im runing 4/6 for my veg I will post a photo tonight when the light come on with 1.3 gm epsom per gl. Im under a t5 8 light for my moms I water every day with 10 % run off in 3 gl smartpots. I know sead it was 3/6 but I up it to 4/6 becouse there getting bigger.
1.3gm for 6mls
1gm for 9mils
1/4gm for 12mils all bloom this is the mix in grams for the epsom per GL.
3/6 from the start when I transplant then up from there.

Flowerfarmer did you let it dry out one time my plant did what yours is doing it is a bit of lock out from needing more water. And if you clean out the inside of the plant it will feed better. I grow vert to.

eastbay- Shit man, I am running nearly the same setup for Veg/moms: 8 bulb t5, 3 gal fabric pots. Been trying 6/9 only, 6/9/2or3ml calmag, with and without Drip Clean @.4ml-1ml/gal. Flushing.. Nothing fuckin works! My moms havent looked so sad in a long time :(

so 4/6/1.3gm ep for moms/veggers under t5's? Once HID then 6/9/1gm ep?

Do you use any drip clean?

This is a life saver man. Thank you

drip clean must be causing people problems. Tyga had the same thing. It's not difficult to have healthy plants with 6/9 so it's gotta be some sort of additive that people are using or some sort of insect/root problems.

No drip clean for me if you do a good run off you dont need drip clean. If you think about the ppms of 6/9 is not that much like 700 to 750. 6/9 for t5 is to much drop it to 3/6 or 4/6 with 1.3gm epsom will get photos up soon light come on at 6:45.

At 6/9 it is 5.8 at 4/6 it is 5.9 so when I go up to 6/12 ph 5.7 so I will make a gl of mag for the 12mils and add some PH up to get it back to 5.8 to6.1 I run it a bit higher PH at the end like the last 2 weeks.

Thanks for the insight eastbay, I will try out the 4/6/1.3 ep. I also was looking for a good formula for t5's derived from the 6/9 recipe and came up with 4/6 as it is 66% of 6/9 similarly how 5/10(lucas for t5's) is ~63% of 8/16 – i just never added in the epsom...

Have you found this recipe to work for most all your strains?

Great pics, seems like a dialed in system!

Cheers!

Thanks eastbay, dope set up you got goin... 6/9 brings me right to 5.8 also which is pretty convienient. Did you see my pics though? They are looking like they have a defficiency and want to be fed more..Im a little afraid if I drop the feed lower they will get worse. They will be under a 1K in a few days once they are sexed so I think I'm going to keep rocking 6/9 with a small amount of silca and see how it goes.
Do you only add epsom if your plants show they want more Mg? Or do you just add it anyways... My tap is a little higher than yours (150ppm) and i'm not sure If I should start adding it at low doses like a 1/4g/gal just incase.

Tyga most of the time when you have a higher ppm with your tap water it is Ca not mg.
The best way to disslving the epsom is I put about 1/2 a pint glass of hot water put the epsom in then pour it in another pint glass do this a fue times then in to you rez. If the plant looks like it needs more I will make up a spray and spray it with mag water. The plant will pick up more mg at a higher ph 5.9 to 6.2 if you need more Ca 5.7 to 5.5 but we want to keep it at 5.8 if we can thats why it is good to have your ph swing from 5.7 to 6.2. If you think they need more Mg water at a higher ph for a day or 3. PH will do a lot.

Using RO with 6/9 I sometimes see what I would consider Mg def. Leaves get light green/darkgreen in kind of a fading blend between the veins.

I know epsom is recommended and cheap, but a friend has given me a gallon of Humboldt County Own Magnum which looks to be straight Mg (2%) with B1 (.10%) and Sulfur (2%). It has an average bloom dosage of around 5mL...or foliar at 1/2 strength.

Would this be a viable addition to 6/9 to increase my Mg? Anyone know what dosage would put me at correct ratios/numbers when using with 6/9 in damn near pure RO.

My buddy is trying to recoup some of his cost on it.. so its not totally free.. but I wouldnt be opposed to taking it off of his hands if I can use it up while using my normal 6/9.

FF you want to mix in 3.5 mil per Gl it will put you ppm for your Mg at 62ppms
Bloom is 41 ppm of mag so you add 3.5 to that you get 21ppm +41 =62 is what I would mix it at.

h3ad was using epsom salt at the beginning of this thread but I believe he stopped using it. I can't remember why? I also believe he was using tap and it was under 100 ppm so I don't know.

How much P is too little? I've crafted my own version using Jacks Hydro/CalNit but my P is quite low, 28ppm. Not sure if that's fine or too low.
