Boy either I'm more stoned than I think, or ic is playing tricks on me, why I didn't get a notification of your post ColaCalyx?

Re: sore thumbs well… that's the nature's cut!

I wish and expect having to give her some thumbs this Autumn too!

Re: flowchart and Tangwena Malawi Cobbing: you'll see it's a process that feels really natural to process sativas.

Sugar leaves can be as flavorful or full of trichs as the ovaries, and protects the delicate buds so why oversmart nature. And pruning remaining fans on sativas is trivial and quick...

Absolutely logical to process them into cobs. It's like a a candy, concentrated, budified delight version.

Not only handy, fermentation can turn good things into golden.

Had to roll another one… what a experience, really thick, flavorful smoke that kind of feels what "sunny delight" or similar beverages stimulate in your tongue, which a intense wood/red apple/apricot flavor, wood slimming out as it cures.

I honestly think the harshness may be may fault, too much nitrogen.

Really. Forget about her for three months (minimum curing). For those that work with aromas: is the time it requires to properly "steep in", being it as potent as it is.

Awesome.

Guawi #3

Guawi #3

She was the last to flower. Guawi #3 has large trichomes and short internodes and greasy stems. Compared to her sister, the structure is much more delicate and petite, she has very small leaves and thin stems, and a lot of them. Too many tops to count. I'm going to need more support! She is going to be absolutely full of buds!

Guawi #2

Guawi #2

The most vigorous plant in the garden. It has strong branches and seems built to grow very large. Almost could do without support. It lives in a 45 gallon container filled wit a bit less than my other plants, so I could imagine her being a true monster in a larger pot. Her flowering is explosive! Has nearly caught up to my PxBH in bud development. Large trichomes!

I have one Guawi this year. Not a large soil hole so the size was limited by that. Very sunny spot. Going into flowering now.

Hi ColaCalyx,

Both Guawis are looking lovely in early flowering! :)
Try to increase a bit the feeding until they reach 2/3 parts of their flowering to avoid the yellowing and they will reward you with a bigger yield.

Thanks for your updates! Have a great start of autumn.

Guawi out of stock

Guawi out of stock

Hi,

The newer version of Guawi limited edition has been sold out.

I would like to thank to all the growers that have supported the new version of this limited edition :huggg: I think it has been enjoyed by many so we will try to bring her back in stock in the future.

The Guawi #2 (untopped plant) came down a few days ago. Had an amazing plumeria flower smell. Nice dense light green buds.
Guawi#3 is my last plant to finish. I want to give her about a couple weeks more.

Guawi #3 threw out a bunch of new pistils, I think she's gonna go to mid-november
Smells are starting to sweeten. Her sister was sweet fruity and floral - this plant is more herbaceous, spicy resin with a small touch of fruit

First pic is a swollen calyx with a seed developing. I will harvest this plant by the weekend. Smells keep developing, she has become sweeter the last week. Woohoo! Very pleased with my Ace plants this season.

Guawi#3 Harvest

Guawi#3 Harvest

This Guawi was harvested this morning. The new growth was allowed to mature and she was beginning to get some autumn colors with the colder days. This plant was very frosty! The smells were complex: woody, resinous, ginger root, with a small hint of burnt rubber or pine tar. There was a bit of sweetness but not much. Very different smells from her sister; I think the Guawi line has some interesting variation to explore - can't wait for the next release!

Excellent ColaCalyx :)

Glad you have had a sucessful and abundant harvest with Guawi!

I really appreciate all your updates showing their progresses during the whole flowering stage.

Your Guawis have the classic Malawi Killer resins and flowering structure. Love their strong, balanced and branchy structure loaded with buds. A good number of Guawi individuals show more complex floral and fruity terpene profiles from Tikal, although woody/oily Malawi phenos can also be found. They look like will deliver a really strong, profound and long lasting sativa effect :D Please, let us know your opinion about the different females when you have the chance.

Well done Gazoo! :)

I really like how did you tame and train down the Guawi sativa genetics in such a small indoor space. I can see some leaf tips burnt, but the flowers overall look very well developed.
Hope you are starting to enjoy her! ;)

i have 5 seeds left from a pack of guawi bought in 2006/2007 dubi,
im not certain of the exact date at the moment.
what do you think the exact genetics might be from this date?
i hope to be popping them next month.

Welcome TheIsland,

If i'm not wrong you must have the very first Guawi regular release, which is Old Malawi Killer x P2 pure Guatemala sativa male, while more modern Guawi releases include Tikal instead of pure Guatemala. Hope they still germinate fine! Good luck.

hi dubi,
yes i think it was the very early days, i think i got them straight away when you had mentioned them on the 'other forum'.
i bought them along with a pack of 'nepalese highland'.
the 5 guawi i originally grew out were some of the strongest smoke ive ever grown.
i only lost the mothers due to some personal problems.
thank god i kept the remaining 5 seeds safe.
i will keep you updated as and when i get a chance to try to germinate them next month.
thanks for the reply
