It is done and jarred. So I have one plant in the freezer for ice water hash and I have the other cut, dried and jarred for curing. This grow turned into a difficult one – especially for someone as distracted as me. I had some cal/mag issues (self-induced) and I had budrot on one plant before maturity. I will blame that one on the climate and the lack of real climate control in the grow area. The plant that I did bring to term was healthy with some immature seeds appearing in some of the lower larf. It had very dense buds which made trimming a real chore – about double my normal flow. The return was very good – albeit less one whole plant. I will update this thread with a smoke report.

Conclusion: This strain appears sensitive to humidity and the hermie seeds might mean that it is not as stable as it could be. And the trimming detail required would make it quite impractical for commercial growing.

So I have one plant in the freezer for ice water hash

So . . . that plant in the freezer was hashisized. ;)

I used my washer as usual but this time I decided to try to run it with minimal ice cubes. In a Frenchy vid he comments that you want the water to do the job - not the cubes - because the cubes are brutal bashing the buds which means more plant matter in your final product. I wrapped the washer in a towel to insulate it and put ice cubes and water in a cooler to chill for 20 minutes. When the water was really cold, I retrieved the bag of bud from the freezer and I scooped the cold water into the washer with only a couple dozen cubes and I let this chill for another 20 minutes. Then I did a 3 minute wash, dumped but saved the ice water and reused it for a 2nd 4 minute run. I collected at 160u, 75u, 45u and 25u. After squeezing it dry, it was frozen for 4 days and then I micro-planed it onto a non-stick cookie sheet for a couple of days of air drying.

I hot bottle rolled the 73u and the 45u/25u combo separately à la Frenchy and I ended up with a couple of nice chunks to age for a few months. I sampled the 160u and I can confirm that it does the job!

A story relevant at least one of my very first grows when I moved up state was on Kalifornia bag seen it was a horrible season, overcast and I was in a little low spot of the valley. There was always thick morning fog, everything rotted out completely except for one plant that was miraculously impervious…. If I had cloned it, it would’ve been the perfect plant for that area.

After bitching about the rot affinity that this strain seems to have, I do have to say that I really like the high. It is a Sativa and a good one, with just a trace of chill and relaxation buzzing in the background. After just ½ of a small joint this morning as a Wake & Bake, I am smiling and full of energy – no, energy is the wrong description – but certainly a very positive and upbeat vibe with no paranoia at all. Reminiscent of Ace’s Malawi perhaps. Excellent for creative writing and patting the cat who is laying on my desk . . . ;)

I wonder how the hash I made is . . . :rasta:

And now the hash . . .

I had a small chunk in my APX Volt vape this morning and it was a very similar high to my description above. Upbeat. Very clear headed high. Very strong.

But, but. but . . . it played havoc with my spinal stenosis, to the point that I had to smack it with some muscle relaxants and a vape of Pink Kush to calm things down again. I had pretty severe muscle cramps in both legs - which is one of my lovely stenosis benefits - so I think that I will have to let this one cure until I can get things resolved.

Sorry to hear that mate- that’s what they diagnosed me with last week, “moderate spinal stenosis and multiple protrusions on L4/L5”

Glad the pink kush sorted things out 👍

That sounds about right. I had surgery in 2018 and they cut a piece out. That worked until early 2021 when I had a 2nd surgery which involved an industrial Dremel. This time out, I am in a holding pattern as I wait for an MRI and the surgeon's take on it all. I can still walk so it is not really urgent but . . .

Heavy kush stains, Robax (methocarbamol with ibuprophen) and being horizontal is all that really helps. Dancing around the kitchen cooking is a major problem. My doc proscribed Pregabalin so I got a bottle but I don't really want to use them useless things get out of hand.

My wife has to take pregabalin among other things for severe depression- she has had no side effects from them, only drawback is they took a month to get in the system

They told me I’m too young to have these problems (!) so want to avoid surgery, and they want to do physio before even considering injection
Strange because I was offered the injections 10 years ago and I said I’d wait until it got really bad i.e now 🤣

Here is a study I ran across that surmises that pregabalin significantly delays the need for surgery for lumbar spinal stenosis patients: National Library of Medicine Springer Study
