Growing in aprtment?

If you plan it out well, you can do it well and minimize the stress put on yourself. The key is thinking from start to beginning and figure out EXACTLY how everything will work ... contingency plans, backup plans, self destruct plans, etc. You get the point.

One thing I think us growers freak out about is how things appear to others. But think about it this way ... a normal person walks into an apartment and unless you have given them reason, the LAST thing they are thinking is "I wonder if this person grows". It just seems, at least in my case, now that I grow, everywhere I go, I think: "hmm, that'd be a good place to grow" or "ohh, most of the precursors have been met for this area to have a lot of potential".

Not everyone thinks that way. At least I hope not. :D

allright cool, Unfortunately my only growable area is in my bedroom which has the walk in closet and a bathroom with a separate door. I am thinking of framing the closet which ahs no smoke alarm in it or any reason for some one o go into it. Im still going to lock the bedroom door, but I guess if an emergency they will have to break the door down, and with the closet oor locked up I doubt they will want to be responsible for breaking 2 doors down one of which is non of their business to have touched?

You're closet would have to be clean as hell. It couldn't attract any attention if they did in-fact bust into your bedroom for some emergency reason. If you had a lock on the closet and bedroom, plus a very clean unnoticeable grow... you would be quite safe.

I did my first grow in my apt, will do my second in another unit in the same complex as we are moving into a larger unit.


My landlords come in 1 time every year and 1 time every other year. To enter they have to give written notice of 48 hours, and if it is not an emergency they can reschedule in most cases.

Once a year for Fire Alarm check, which I can do by being home and just opening the door when it goes off.

Once every other year for Chimney Sweep.


Our first unit in the complex was robbed of all electronics, and so we moved to a higher floor unit. After that we asked for no entry without us present and they consented saying they understood our feeling of violation.


It really depends on your complex to be honest.



Mine I know is safe because well they do not give two shites about your business, they just want their check. I know that because I have been here long enough to know, no chance I would have started growing my first year here. But after 2 years of learning how things work I am relatively safe feeling. More so than I would have been in the last house I rented. That landlord was all up in my arse all the time.



Again use your head, think, and if it feels bad, do not do it.

Overkill is under-rated.

Yeah, if you don't have your own breaker panel and places to put AC's you can rule out even a small commercial grow. Put a small tent in your closet, 1-2 lights, carbon filtered, and soil (hydro can flood.) If that doesn't fit your plans, move.

ok, cool. I found out that they change filter and spray for pests every month, which Ill opt out of alter on. But I guess every year the fire dept comes in a and dose alike 2 minut check for fire saftey to make sure every thing is ok. so, My question is any one who has had or HAS a fire department check once a year if they do it on YOUR aprtment complex, what dose it entail and what do they look at/check out and what areas of your aprtment do they check out. Any info would be great.
