Growing in an Aerogarden

o so i hook the tube up the the pump, then hook the other end of the tube to the air bubbler correct? where should i position the air bubbler in the resivoir? i would put the non auto flowers in a pot but i dont have any right now so im kind of stuck. if i can get a better result with the auto flowers then i would pull the plug on these freebies and start the ak x diesel with fresh nutes more root space ( i would do like 3 seeds at once due to space) also with the air stone(air bubbler) and A LITTLE more knowledge about growing

damn stanky bud. same exact thing happened to my big plant you can see in the pics. maybe lack of nutrients? what gives it a nice strong stem?

Kyle, I find 4 AF plants is a good number two in the back outside holes and two in the front center. You can either thread the air stone and tubing through one of the empty holes or through the door in front where you add the water.
Stanky How old was the plant? Usually if a seedling falls over because its stem is too weak to support the plant is because there is not enough air movement. You can either use a fan to blow on them.

thanks rose. i will put it threw one of the holes. and my stem on the big plant was veryweak so i guess ill have the fan more direct on them.

hey, the plant was probably about a month old. It was real healthy looking too except the stem at the sponge was real thin, weak and mushy. The rest of the stem above it was thick and strong and I had a fan on it and everything. I don't really know why there were like that because everything was going good until they toppled over. The other ones were like that too so I just gave up on aerogarden and now I'm on CFLs and soil.

I was thinking maybe I would get an Aero to keep a mom and keep the lights on 24/0 on her and take clones off her once in a while, but I'm thinking the thing might be too small for that. What do you think?

idk. i think the resivoir is around 4 liters? 3. something liters. something like that. you can buy an upgrade hood and arm, goes up to 24 inches i believe and has 3 grow lights

Stanky, Did you use the grey sponges or the brown ones? I have heard that the grey ones can cause problems. I plan on getting some rapid rooter plugs to use in future grows.

David I think it would be too small to keep a mother.

Kyle, You can get some of Schultz's multi purpose nutes and put in a drop or two with the areo nutes but you probably will do just fine if you just use the aero's alone.

Rose, Hi again. My two plants have been doing great over the last couple weeks, but I have something going on now. The very top of one of them looks terrible, the leaves are very thick and spongy feeling, they are also yellowing. The top seems very weak like compared to the rest of the plant. The flowers pistils are yellowing too. I was thinking of flushing the reservoir but they probably dont have much time left(1 or 2 weeks). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and how would one go about flushing the reservoir in one of these things?
Thanks Rose, you've been very helpful!

Doug Do you have any pictures? Flushing is easy unplug the unit and lift bowl out of the base. Gently lift the lid with the plants still inside and set it on something so the roots hang loose. and then just empty and refill the bowl. How old are your plants? Do you have any empty pods? If you have empty pods then take a flashlight and make sure the water is still circulating. The pump can get clogged with roots and stop working so the water get stagnant that's why I use an aquarium pump and air stone. I lost half a crop my first time out because I didn't know it had happened. Anyway they started looking weird on their tops first.

Kyle Still nothing on your second plant but your lady is looking good.
