Growing Ethiopian and Bangui Haze x Ethiopian

I managed to put these twentysomething Ethiopian and the 6 Malawi Panama into this little 80x80 tent under 200W. I have too many things in the flowering tent already. These have been flowering for just some days and it looks that they have finally started stretching.

As soon as I sort their gender I'll put each female in the definitive 3l pot. They've got a thin structure, but I can say their growth is quite contained under these lights.

Not much to show, they don't grow as much as I expected. 9 days 12/12 and I've already sort some males and females.

And these are most of the Bangi Haze Ethiopian still vegetating.

Cheers

I couldn't resist the temptation and spent some more money in seeds. I just planted some from the limited edition ACE was offering. Bangi Haze x Ethiopian. I guess these will be faster and stronger than the original Ethiopian, but still uplifting, so I intend to take cuts and find a keeper.

It is a pity I can't change the title of the thread now to include the review of this cross.

I've been running a nice cut of Ace's Bangi Haze inside in mature organics and 1k HPS for a few runs and would be happy to share veg/flowering/dried flower/smoke reports photos if they would be helpful to anyone in this thread.

Bangi Haze instead Bangi Haze x Ethiopian? I think they'll be quite similar, go ahead and share what you consider.

Bangi x Ethiopians grow very slow for a F1. I've been feeding them half strength as I usually feed extreme sativas, but I've decided to fuel them up. They have dark wide leaves, strong structure and an incredibly strong root system like Indicas do, they are asking for a repotting.

I'm very curious to see how they will evolve.

Yessir. Cedar/pepper/slight nutmeg terps. Good working class smoke though I honestly didn't care much for the effect before 2.5 months in the jar. Now I love it lol. My cut is surprisingly productive. I've been too busy with anew job to post that stuff but I promise I'll get it up before the end of the weekend. Enjoying the thread, thanks everyone.

P.S. I'll make a bangi album and link it here so I don't clog up the thread eith unrelated shit.

P.S.S. Terpene spread on my cut was unremarkable at harvest despite growing in mature organics, so it wasnt looking good as I so tired of hoarding shit. But after a proper cure, terpenes improved drastically. Far more bandwidth now, many new low end scents as it cures. I think the smoke might continue improving. Trying her under LEC 315 CMH with more rootspace and longer veg right now instead of 1k HPS and a quick flip. Will share results when she finishes. To clarify for the lurkers, I am referring to my experiences with Ace's Bangi Haze and not the Bangi x Ethiopian. Just contributing P1 info for people growing out this hybrid.

Wonderful thread Carraxe. I love seeing you going through the seeds like you do. Question about your veg room for high sativas....What is the temp and humidity of it? Thinking of building out a dedicated veg and flower room for the sativas I have for next round.

Some of the pics on page 2 are just amazing :D Love seeing all the vegging.

I've measured it along the night.

Tmin= 16,2 ºC
Tmax= 29 ºC
RHmin= 52%
HRmax= 89%

I don't usually get such high temperatures. During the winter, the best moment to grow, I reach minimum temperatures of around 10ºC some times, but only the coldest months and while lights are off.

All of the plants have been sexed after two weeks 12/12, that`s fast and nice. I've already sort all the specimens: 14 females and 10 males. I've discarded half of the males and I've kept these:

They'll be kept in 1l pots to be used for some sativa crosses.

The Bangi Haze x Ethiopian look progressively better and better every day. I've already taken cuts and I'll repot and put them into flower in a few days.
These are just 4 out of the twentysomething of them.

Ethiopians have started to produce flowers 4 weeks after switch. I'll take some pictures when the lights are on.

Cheers

Ethiopians 4 1/2 weeks after flip. They've just started growing flowers. These are the most advanced, some have just finished stretching.

Excellent job Carraxe :yes:

Looks like you have been very busy with so many sativas from seed ;) Hope you have now a bit more of space after sorting the males.
I'm sure you will find remarkable parental plants of each strain,
and hope you can produce nice blends of your own with the best males and females.

The most exciting stage has just started. Best wishes! :)

Some pics of these stretchy ladies. 6 weeks after flip. Without the LEDs, these plants would be impossible to grow. They look they'll need a lot of time to mature.

These Ethiopians have stated clear that they need a looooot of time. They've been at 12/12 for near 8 weeks and no one has shown even symptoms of being at their mid point. Some even look like they are starting now to throw any flowers.

Let's see how much time I can stand. My tent looks like a real tropical forest now.

Today I've discarded the three slowest Ethiopians of the bunch. They are two days short of 9 weeks 12/12 and they looked like that:

The ones I kept look more like this:

A couple of months left.

Lower to 11 hours on cut off all nitrogen you need nitrogen at first third of flower but very little then again a bit if nitrogen last third but I think you have to cut off nitrogen completely I could be wrong but too much nitrogen delays flower time and makes small extra fluffy buds

Yes drop the hours 12/12 is still summer time to them.
I always end up 10/14 on sativas or they just keep growing.

That's how they look now. 10 weeks and a half 12/12. They show resin and they foxtail like crazy, but I can see how they grow. They will eventually mature.

They look real, even if there is no way we can prove they haven't any indica on them they, the aspects of the calyxes and the resin covering look very authentic.

This is a Bangi Haze Ethiopian just to compare. 4 weeks 12/12 and already full of flowers, these are way faster and also very tall. The one in the left is a Red Snake at 7 and half weeks.

Hi Carraxe,

Thanks for the updates. Pure untamed tropical sativas like pure Ethiopian can take its sweet time to start to build proper flower structures, especially when flowered from seed, they are much faster when flowering sexually matured clones, although i'm sure you are well aware of this.

0 indica genetics in Ethiopian, guaranteed. The proof is in her growing and flowering traits and of course in the smoking tests of the finished product, her effect is extremely clean, cerebral and uplifting, without ceiling or body effect. She is a real untouched and untamed tropical sativa.
