Last batch of S1 random shots. I like a lot the first one, it clearly show 3 different trichome's ripening.

what % of amber you looking for ?

Usually I let the pistils go brown. When 90% are brown/orange it's time to chop.
Depending on strain it finally has more or less amber glands.

I also like to let some strain/phenos ripe a little more to have some variation on what I smoke, however I never get not even near 100% amber glands in indoor environment.

I have my CT F1 mom in 1,4 liters pot. I usually keep it small, with not so much light. A month before I have to take clones, I give some more coco without transplant, just put another pot under the first. This increase the growth and let me take enough clones, using only a small pot and few watts.

I took some pictures after clones were taken, and the mom pruned.

When I don't need clones for a while, I just remove the second pot, cut the roots and done. Easy and pretty effective.

Some new shots of CT F1 from seed. They are in 1,4 lt. pots but with nice flowers. I think they need a couple more of week, touching the 65 days for a good ripening.

This one is a cross made out of the dark-tonic and a diesel pheno of MK-Ultra from TH seeds. Great smell!

Now let's turn back on topic. Well, I want to show you some more shots of a couple of PCK phenos, they are the ones that shown purple in early flowering and now they are more purple than others.
Just started the pollination a day ago.

I don't know but I can suppose it's a trait coming from its indica ancestor, short, with thick stems, capable to face strong winds. I'm very courious to see what happens in the cross with the CT male!

A couple of shots of the rdwc setup, here at 34 days 12\12. The strain is ChocoTonic F1, the dark mom, and I already see big flowers, all of them still white, with very few brown pistils.

pH is stable at 6.4 and Ec is 1 - 1.1 mS/cm

The only thing I have to pay attention is Calcium, as I'm using hard water fertilizers with soft water.

Here the pictures:

hey man, this factory never stops! :) interesting cross the ct x mk... so did you use the darktonic mom and a mk dad? or you selfed the mk diesel pheno?

i have one question if i may... :) i read you're using hard water fertilizers... can i ask you which brand? i have always been growing in organic soil with biobizz/biocanna. now, after reading some interesting posts by yourself, i want to give coco a try, so (this fall i think, i have better temp/rh conditions) i will choose one of my cuts and do a little side-by-side using (washed) ikea coco and perlite: coco w/minerals vs. organic. :) (it would be nice to do at least 3-4 comparing clones: coco w/minerals, organic, coco w/organic nutes, coco w/mixed organic-mineral diet... maybe in the future :)).
i know my water is very hard. i have an ec-meter but i never really use it and i always had very successful grows (considering my medium/small setup) and i must say i am very pleased by the end result. :D the other day i measured the ec of the water i feed plants with (left in a bucket for at least a day usually) and it reads a little above 0.9 ms/cm! didn't expect this much. being the ec.meter not calibrated and not the best (adwa), i went in the local water campany's site and they say in my area ec is 0.879 ms/cm! (i think it also has a lot of calcium... 136 mg/l). do you think i can work in coco with these high ec values?
thanks a lot dude! :huggg:

I used the dark tonic female pollen on a regular MK female ;)

Growth Technologies - Ionic Line. I use almost only bloom.

Try to take more than one clone for each test, more clones = more accurate result ;)

0,9 is pretty high. Can't you get an RO filter? I think it is the best option, so you can decide the water starting ec.
If RO is not an option you can use hard water fertilizers, low in calcium with acidic reaction once in the water (less acid used to lower pH).
I think you'll benefit if you regularly let some water flows from the bottom of the pot, carrying some salts away, including calcium, avoiding toxicity for the plant.

That's what I think, but I never had to dial with such hard water ;)

thanks a lot for the info bro! :huggg: nice advices... letting some water flow in the tray is a normal growing habit i have... ;) i will look into RO filters, but i may go for the hard water ferts... since they're easy to find, i wanted to use canna coco a+b (they have them at the local growshop - 5 min from my house :D), do you think i'm gonna have hard time using them with such an high ec? thanks a lot man! :tiphat: ever lasting congratulations for your amazing works. let us know if and when you're releasing some beans :) ciao! EDIT: i found some not so expensive RO solutions that may fit my case... this way is definetely the best and easiest way, you're right. do you think also my organic soil plant would benefit from RO water? thanks... a milion times!
